The chairman of Boston University's religion department offers this proposal: Public high schools should require one course in the Bible for all their students and another in world religions

He cites surveys showing that most Americans can't even name one of the four biblical gospels and that many high school students think that Sodom and Gomorrah were a married couple.

They are in Public school...of course they think that the Sodomites are married. Look at what they are taught.

Their taught that sodomites are "normal" and "just another lifestyle CHOICE". Why bother to discuss what's WRONG with it since that goes AGAINST the godless public school agenda.

I didn't need another story to convince me that Americans are generally stupid, but thanks. This one covers things most others don't. I guess this extends, for me, the list of things about which Americans are stupid.

But at least the public schools are acheiving their intended goals.

I'm not exactly taken with the idea of government schools and liberal teachers unions teaching our kids about the bible. You can imagine what kinds of scriptual interpretations would be taught.

Gosh. Where did your religious education come from? Mine came from church and family.

I guess it's just easier now to throw off the responsibility for certain elements of education, makes it easier to blame someone else for the ills that follow, I guess.
