As it stands, you are commenting out of simple secular bigotry. We had blue laws in Pennsylvania, still have some of them in fact...hardly a bastion of good ol' southern Christians.
Does anyone have the list of the more than 20 Muslim acts of war against the United States handy? There is another list of 20 or so instances of sudden Jihad syndrome (freelance terrorism) in the US since September 11th. I don't have these lists handy. They do help to provide a little perspective. And let's not forget the tens of thousand of US deaths that probably would have occurred had we done nothing in the last five years. Having respect for the Sabbath and not being able to buy wine on Sunday is a trivial complaint and debate.
I disagree. I think he just made a scripted statement pretending to be a Christian so that he can get Christian votes. Much like Hillary in the predominantly black church.
He hired two ultra-leftist women who made careers of ripping Christians to shreds as two of his PR workers. Watch what he does, not what he says.
He also clear cut many acres of land to build his 28,000 square foot mansion (one of many mansions) which no doubt takes a small coal fired power plant to power. He says that he's an environmentalist as well.
We've got a new "blue law" in Illinois. You can't buy a car on Sunday. The source? Car dealers who found that working 7 days a week led to divorce. They want to have a day off too. The only way to take a day off was to force the competition to take a day off too.
The same number of cars get sold, and the salesmen and their wives are happier that the cars get sold in 6 days instead of 7.
Any thinking person says of course not. The people voted to have these laws and the people are not a Theocracy.

When I was younger I didn't believe it was possible that the things in the book of Revelations could come to pass in my lifetime. Now I look around me and I don't believe they will not come to pass in my lifetime.

You can say that again. I'll give you an example. I know a woman who claims to be Christian, goes to church every Sunday, and lives in fornication/adultery with her sociopathic, abusive, mentally ill boyfriend who she idol-worships.
She knows, deep in her heart, that she is sinning against God. Her Pastor even told her the crazy boyfriend was a user and an abuser and to get away from him, but she went back to him anyway. The twisted, lying piece of slime convinced her they were "spiritually married."
It states clearly in the Bible that fornicators and adulterers will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (1 Cor 6:9) Unfortunately, since this kind of behavior is so widespread, today's pastors (other than John Hagee) are too chicken to preach it...they might offend somebody.
It's one thing to hear the Gospel. It's another thing to live it and obey Christ...and that's not easy nor convenient for any of us.

The sad irony is that about a third of the country can't see the difference between a Christian who says that homosexuality is sinful and a Muslim who wants to cut your head off for taking your wife out to dinner without first covering her in a bedsheet.

Which is why I find the whole muslim "men can not make laws, only God can make laws" thing laughable.
Like we Christians have no experience with that. Whoever makes the laws...it's going to be men that interpret and apply them.
