Morning AB, All....

Am home today due to a freak snowstorm which dropped a blizzard of 1/2 an inch or so of snow here in the swamps of Delaware. Which led to the cancellation of choir practice which led to the cancellation of singing this morning which led to me going to mass yesterday which leaves me free this morning.

Got a whole lot, a WHOLE lot, going on in my life here as concerns Republicans and politics. Will give one quick one right now as I am going to do a Blog post about it all.

But I had a meeting with the Sussex County Executive poobahs in the GOP re my "controversial" article I submitted for their newsletter (Which THEY asked me for!). They were very nice but it was same ole, same ole....

"Once we had a club that was very divided," the exec VP told me. "So we've stopped ANY kind of editorial in our newsletter," she continued whilst assuring me that my article was very well-written and that I was a writer of the highest caliber.

I mentioned that the National GOP lady just spoke to our group and she said that national membership was down by 10% and they didn't know why. I suggested, softly and humbly, that the drop in membership not to mention the losses in this November past was because "conservatives" were a bit tired of blue-blood spineless republicans who do NOT advance, much less fight for, true conservative causes.

The local GOP poobah sat up smartly and said "This Sussex county chapter has increased its membership by about 10%" and this comment made me smile. And of course, I had to break this woman out of her balloon....

"But Sussex county's population has increased SIX TIMES the national rate and indeed, all of Delaware's population has increased FOUR times the national rate in the past five years," I said. "Who knows how many members you'd have if you'd quit avoiding "controversy"?"

This story of my innocent little article being rejected by the Republican party is the drama come to life as to why so very many of us are so disillusioned by the only national party we have to represent conservatives.

Below is the article these ladies refused to print. Forget I wrote it, folks. It's an INNOCENT, innocuous, totally true couple of paragraphs. The theme they charged me with writing about is "how women can make a difference". Damn I caught that theme perfectly in my little piece and cry, folks...cry your eyeballs out.

FOR THESE GOP WOMEN REJECTED IT!!! As follows:

Promote Conservatism by Simply Being a Woman

Women, mothers and wives, by their very nature, are conservatives. We understand budgets and spending constraints, we see through mischievous children and know bad behavior when we see it. We manage households and organize families on a daily, sometimes exasperating, basis. We bear the young and understand the full and horrific impact terminating a life in the womb can have. Many, if not most, of us hold down a job and we understand the politics of the office as well as the politics of the nation.

Conservative women need to march firmly forward into the election of 2008, confident of how the world works and stay on message. The hand that rocks the cradle rocks the world.

Women are a formidable voting force in this country and conservative women have it simple, really. For we are not trying to change the reality we know and understand, unlike our liberal counterparts.

Females can influence the world around them, via children and spouse. Teach them to vote and the importance of their civic duty. Encourage political activism as much as possible and by all means, join in yourself.

Trust your feminine common sense and insist that the males in our surround do not deviate from the values we cherish.

For a woman can influence society by being true to her instincts and influencing our children to a greater good and a better tomorrow.

Women do this much better than men.

That's it. I don't even want to talk about it any more.

Now with that Libby verdict, folks, I simply have lost all faith.

I just read your article and I think it was very good and insightful. It should be published on the RNC site. I can't believe you were talking to the GOP. Guess we now know why the entire northeast is total liberal, the GOP there has joined them.
