Caught On Tape: Mugger Attacks 101-Year-Old Woman In Queens
WNBC ^ | 3/10/07

In surveillance footage recorded at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, the man is seen punching Rose Morat, a 101-year-old woman, in the vestibule of a building in Jamaica Estates, Queens. He snatches her purse and appears to say something, but then punches her again, knocking the woman to the floor along with her walker.

The woman had $33 in her pocketbook, police said.

"All of a sudden I hear this bang," Morat told NewsChannel 4. "And I did not fall and I wasn't unconscious but I was stunned and I thought, what happened? And I looked and there's the blood coming out."

Police said they believe the man struck again about a half-hour later. In the second incident, the man followed an 85-year-old woman into an elevator and got off one floor before her, police said. When the woman tried to enter her apartment, the man attacked her and took her pocketbook, according to police.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, rides a pink bicycle and was seen wearing a winter jacket with a fur collar around the hood, police said.

Police urge anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers hot line at (800) 577-TIPS.

When they catch the guy, they should put him in the general population of the prison he's going to and let the inmates know what he did. Problem solved.

Aside from the woman being 101 years old (which is the only reason it's even being reported on in the media), this is a VERY common occurrence in liberal areas where only criminals are allowed to have guns.

I'll add that it is okay with me if we spend tax payer money to put him back together again so he can do it all over again.

The video is here
Hard to believe she is 101.
She seems a good 30 years younger.

Hope they catch the low life that beat her up and robbed her.

It sure would be ashame if this scuzzball got into an accident when the police nab him. And nab him they will. This scuzz is high priority

It's great that the 101 year old woman seems to be OK. No broken hip which is so awful for the elderly

This kind of crime qualifies for the death penalty as far as I'm concerned. Hanged in the public gallows for citizens to observe and draw lessons from. The perp is a waste of oxygen. He will never lead a productive life, will just live of welfare in some way

My granny packed until the day she died and she lived to be 92. Lived in northern Alabama and never locked her doors - ever.

"When they catch the guy, they should put him in the general population of the prison he's going to..."

- Yup, and when they do he should be required to wear his special jacket with the faux fur collar when out mixing with the other inmates in the prison yard.

This thug just cut to the chase.

There are a breed of people out there that prey on the elderly. They disguise themselves as companions or home health care providers.

They lie about everything to trusting employers who in turn give them "The Keys To The Kingdom" by hiring them to look after elderly disabled loved ones.

Then the looting and psychological brain washing begins.

These people work real hard at ripping off the elderly. Their "devotion" to their client is a ruse to keep family members satisfied while all the while they work on things such as: changing wills, alienating family, pilfering, "gifting", and then threats and intimidation.

Coming from one who knows, take my advice:

When hiring care givers, run every possible background check. It's a good idea to hire a detective agency to help do this.

Demand written references from previous employers and follow up on them.

Demand that they treat your loved one with respect.

I realize that each case is special and comes with it's own set of problems, but if you want to avoid heartache and testifying in court, take the time initially to find out all you can about this "care giver" and monitor them relentlessly.

Or alternatively, fly him to the Sunni triangle in a cargo plane and release him. The video that shows up a couple of days later wont be anything like the security camera footage.

The perp is a waste of oxygen.

He is also contributing to "global warming" with his wasted "carbon footprint" including his breathing.

If I could find this perp, I wouldn't turn him in. I would personally beat him to a bloody pulp and enjoy every minute of it.
