Cheap hydrogen is wanted, though. Nuclear power isn't free or cheap, either. And the eco-nazis will never let you have it in the numbers needed.

Me, I like oil. Oil is cheap (and should be a lot cheaper), it's much more loaded in BTUs, it's relatively clean, it's much safer than a lot of other fuels; and carbon is not a problem since the Earth can handle it.

Cheap oil is good for humanity. It makes everything cheaper, especially for the poor.
