It was damn close to Howard Dean screaming. That would have been terrific had they actually used it.

Can't wait to see it.

Very Nice.

I will be adding this DVD to my collection if for this clip alone.

I've always loved aggressive diplomacy.

Read "Thermopylae" by Bradford, and "The Greco-Persian Wars" by Green. My all-time favorite military story EVER, bar none. Do you have what it takes to "Stand in the Pass with the Spartans."?

I saw it with some friends the second day it came out, the theater was packed. Seeing it on a big screen was a good decision. A movie of valor and bravery, this ranks up there with Gladiator imo.

Not to nit-pick, but what do they do with that big well (?)when they're not, you know...(not wanting to spoil it for people reading the thread before seeing the clip)...looks like a pretty dangerous thing to have just sitting there open.

It was a wishing well. Whenever the King was pissed, he would say, "I wish you well." And it always seemed to solve the problem.

LOL, I must confess, I did see it.

I clicked on the thread to watch that scene AGAIN, gives me goosebumps! (the music was fab too, wasn't it?)

Watching this makes me want to go back again, maybe look for an Imax viewing this time.

The blood didn't bother me as much as the sex, I was a bit uncomfortable, lol.

Of course the "scenery" was great, especially for us gals!

Heh.

Not big on sex scenes per se, but it took me a few minutes to figure out what made this one so unusual (spoiler)…

It's a love scene involving (wait for it) The King, and… the Queen. Yes folks, a love scene involving a married couple.

Shocking to modern sensibilities!

= 0

(And yes, there were gratuitous boobies, lest someone decide to take their youngsters)

Probably figured if you were dumb enough to fall into the well, you didn't deserve to live!

Gratuitous yes, (but at least they were real, lol)

And your right about that love scene being unusual, between husband and wife, not the usual Hollyweird fare!

>>>Better than Gladiator

How so?

Gladiator was a great movie and had characters that were developed. A great movie is more than spectacular fight scenes (and in 300 they were spectacular indeed). Also, where were the chest guards? And, weren't the leg guards only worn on the left leg (the forward one in a phalanx). Also, did the Greeks have such long swords? I thought theirs were quite short (maybe 14 inches of bronze).

Both movies were great. I think 300 will be remembered as the first video game type of movie. It included great action in a fast moving plot. Maybe we could say it was "bloody good."

Gladiator dragged on & on. 300 constant flow & to the point. Much better action than Gladiator.
