E-mails show Rove role on prosecutors’ future (Rats making something illegal absent a crime)

WASHINGTON - White House political adviser Karl Rove raised questions in early 2005 about replacing some federal prosecutors but allowing others to stay, an e-mail exchange released Thursday shows.

"Karl Rove stopped by to ask you (roughly quoting) 'how we planned to proceed regarding US Attorneys, whether we were going to allow all to stay, request resignations from all and accept only some of them, or selectively replace them, etc.,'" Colin Newman, a staffer in the office of counsel to the president, wrote to a colleague.

The one-page document, which spans e-mails between the White House and the Justice Department in January 2005, also indicates Attorney General Alberto Gonzales was considering a range of options in dismissing U.S. attorneys early in President Bush’s second term.

93 were fired by Clinton in 1993 to head off a White Water probe in progress.. a Clintonoid was inserted into the Little Rock slot .. go figure w, where was the media outcryu on that unpreecendented clean sweep of all the fed attorneys across the country?

The MSM had no problem with that, now the MSM is coming unglued and feeding more and more lies to foster and feed it,, lil Timmy was on the Nightly News making like it was the next great scandal in a long line of 'em, obviously not acknowledging that the mSM has sought to use the latest brouhaha to slam the Bush administration, nothing new, FRankly.

As usual , PR is not the Republican forte, and as a result, a "scandal" that had no legs from a Presidential prerogative perspective, now has artificial ones to carry it around the track until it too, falls by the way side.

In this case, it's not the non-crime, it's the non-cover-up.

The Dems/Drive-by Media are reaching new heights of absurdity. Of course, the "hit me again" response by the White House on all these non-scandals has only encouraged the Dems/DBM to keep the torrent of lies and misinformation gushing.

Rove should send an email to Gonzales saying Schumer should be fired.

That would keep the rats busy for a while.

PLUS...MSNBC and the dems were really counting on "frog-marching" Rove out of the White House because of Plamegate..

I think they are going after him as much because they lost him before, than anything else.

Of course...the DUmmies are all calling for impeachment, along with their "Dept. of Peace" candidate, Kucinich..LOL

The crime is being a Republican. The unthinkable crime is being an effective Republican. It follows, that any and all action, either taken or not taken, is criminal behavior. In the hands of the left, Republican thought is crime. They are pre-emptively criminalizing the opposition. Before they gain more power. That way when Miss Mugabe steps into her rightful throne it will already have been established that, ala Zimbabwe, the criminal opposition will not be tolerated.

"Rats making something illegal absent a crime"

Hell, after the Libby fiasco -- where the liars and crooks all get book deals, millions of dollars and national celebrity while the innocent bystanders get convicted of a felony -- this is almost certain to result in several Republicans losing their jobs; lots more Republicans incurring huge legal bills; and, at least one Republican being convicted of a felony -- probably for "lying to congress" (i.e. saying something with with Schumer doesn't agree)

The rules are different for Republicans and 'Rats.

That said, "W" and much of his cabinet, including Gonzales, have brought it on themselves and deserve whatever they get. I'm starting to think that they're all masochists.

Seven of the eight Attorneys were fired in December of 2006. Can someone explain to me how Karl Rove's email of early 2005 can tie him directly to their firings, as Chucky Schmucky Schumer claims? As usual the Dems are trying to make something out of nothing. Since they having nothing substantive to offer in Legislation, and they've bombed out on getting the troops withdrawn from Iraq, I guess they are just wasting time with hearings until 2008, when they hope they can regain the White House. Bull$hitting their way through a Congressional Session. What a waste of taxpayers' money.

Karl Rove should have a presser and say that.

Maybe Pres. Bush is hoping his constituents will defend him. Hear anything from the Mexican and Guatemalan people, yet?

They should have got rid of these Clinton holdovers a long time ago.
