A spokesman for Sears Tower said there was never any credible threat to the building. There wasn't a "credible threat" to the WTC in '01 either, and then there wasn't any WTC.

If you recall from the Path to 911 the head of security for the WTC knew there was a very credible threat but was ignored. He saved thousands of lives with his preparedness.
I don't remember his name but maybe some other FReepers will know it.
