To me the biggest danger of those tubes is getting crap shocked out of you while you hold both ends trying to guide the little pins in the slot.
No, you're talking about Halogen Bulbs, they have the two pins.
The only danger with them is ... BURNING YOUR HOUSE DOWN. The surface temp of a 20 Watt Halogen Desk Lamp Bulb reaches about 69 Bazillon Degrees Fahrenheit (actually 350oF, or oven temp when cooking a Turkey).
But on the upside they last for 2000 hours - if they don't start a fire first.
