Gathering of Eagles warm graves of fallen soldiers:

Yesterday, St. Patrick's Day 2007, a group of ordinary patriots, known nobly as The Gathering of Eagles, achieved something no one else ever could.
Ragtag by nature, Gathering of Eagles' membership includes the wounded, both walking and in wheelchairs, the gratefully and proudly ageing and the living-with-the-memory-of-lost-loved ones, brokenhearted. Some lie awake nights worrying about loved ones still in harm's way, but the one human emotion missing from Gathering of Eagle members is disillusion. All because if there was any chance the touted anti-war protesters were going to desecrate war memorials, then The Gathering of Eagles members were going to be there--no matter from how far away they had to come, no matter in what shape March 17 was to find them in.

I must admit, from one who had lost hope in the real strength (the people) of this Republic, that hope has been re-kindled.
From one who served in that ignoble war in Viet Nam, only to come home to be spit upon and called "baby killer", by his own people, pride has been restored.

I think that the Canada Free Press is a conservative paper. That was the paper that ran the article, exposing Gore's partner in the carbon credit scheme, Maurice Stone.
This may very well be one of the proudest moments of my uneventful life. I stood with my brother, for him and my father. We were great, I must admit! What an honor!
We need to make them a real part of Free Republic; something like the Swift Boat guys. Have some real spokesmen who can write and express our views, and attack, attack, attack the meanspirited leftist attacks on us by such as hillary, schumer, kennedy, levin, durbin. Maybe call it Eagle Them. We badly need our own attack dogs. someone with clout and access to the media,and especially Rush and Hannity, etc. Every un-american outburst by them should be attacked by "The Eagles." or some other "catchey" slogan.

True heroes that our nation owes its life to. The sense of honor among our troops knows no bounds. They stand for freedom everywhere.
American troops and those who are retired have given this nation her strength and honor.
It absolutely saddens me to see the garbage out there called Code Pink and moveon.org.

I was very proud to be a Canadian as I saw your article and the truth you have proclaimed for all to see as the American Main Stream Media pursed its mouth and pursed its mouth at what is to them politically incorrect, celebration of our Iraq War effort. The Eagles are grass roots folk, and represent the way the majority of Americans feel about the war in Iraq. The Iraqi people have been given heart to stay the course in working with their US counterparts, as your article was passed to the troops and others.
Occasionally a news article has a powerful impact in its timing and context. You have done it.
Americans owe you a debt of gratitude, as we all do here on Free Republic.
