Just to increase revenue to the government and make life difficul;t for those least able to pay. The government obviously has way too much money, already. Let them clan up their own act.

Come on, it is just an extra dollar per gallon. It is not like that is going to affect the normal person, mass transit, shipping costs, the price of just about every type of product, or the economy. Not to mention the government will be collecting the money so you know it will be spent wisely.
