WASHINGTON (AP) - A federal judge ruled Friday that a former escort service owner cannot sell phone records and other documents that could be used to publicly identify thousands of her clients.
Deborah Jeane Palfrey, 50, has said she planned to sell the list of up to 15,000 client phone numbers and other records to a news organization to help raise money for her defense. The alleged "D.C. Madam" ran Pamela Martin and Associates, an upscale escort service in the Washington area, for 13 years before it closed in August.
Palfrey's civil attorney, Montgomery Blair Sibley, said Friday he does not believe the judge's order bars him from distributing copies of the phone records for free.
In any event, Sibley said it's a moot point because he has already given copies of the records to an undisclosed news organization. Sibley said the original records are preserved and nothing he has done will prevent prosecutors from inspecting all the materials

Hmmm. Just about the time Mary Caitrin Mahoney took her place as one of Bill Clinton's first crop of White House interns.
My guess: Because both Pubbies and 'Rats are on the list and there's a MAD strategy underway, in other words if the Pubbies fink on the 'Rats, the 'Rats will fink on the Pubbies. Betcha there are some journos on the list as well.
Somebody's got to get their mitts on that list and let it ALL hang out.
And another reason why character counts.
100 says Joe Scarborough would give away his banjo to get off that list.
" MSM sure has acted timid regarding this list '
Perhaps some of the MSM are on the list.
Rather than "who is on the list?", a bigger question to me is what did she do after 13 years to get shut down? Her business was certaily known to many of the DC elite and she was most likely "allowed" to operate.
For good reason probably 95% of the names (with telephone numbers) belong to democ'Rats and their enablers in the liberal MSM.
Not necessarily. Though expect the names of some NYT staffers and managers to disappear from it.
LOL!....ewwwwww.
Let the extortion continue.
Time to start a speculation poll. Brokaw? Rather? We can build a list and develop a "mostly likely top candidate".
Well, it won't be Barney Frank -- he uses the personal columns.
Even at minor comments by Republicans the media has gone into hysterical rants - such as Quayle's spelling of potato which was a total nonissue, nothing compared to some of the things the Clintons have uttered.
"Time to start a speculation poll."
We ALREADY KNOW that Clinton Operatives are on the list, and rumor is that she specialized in Lesbians...
Remember, you can go back as far as 1993!
**The "Lack of Media Interest" itself tells me that there are lots of DEMOCRATS scared to death right now...**
Yes, my thoughts exactly. But there will be GOP on it too, I'm sure.
"Cash offers," said Sibley, naming no names or prices.
There's one thing for certain. The MSM already knows who is on that list.
Probably the whole Kennedy Clan. Oh the deliciousness of it all; especially in this extended electioneering period. I agree with the other poster; let the chips fall where they may. Good to get it out now and allow for a thinning of the field and substitute runners join the marathon.
Oh come on now. You know the .45 inch hole in Rons skull, and the metal spray shown on his X-ray, were caused by the crash not a pre-frag round such as a Glaser or MagSafe fired at close range.
All the MSM and Dems have to do is have someone speculate that Pres. Bush may be on that list and within 2 days, it'll be the gospel truth even though it's not.
She should have the list sent to Drudge. He'd publish it, no matter who was on it.
Before she does, she should let it be known that fingers are on the button somewhere to press the "send" key if she doesn't walk out of that prosecutor's office with a "no prosecution" agreement.
She has the government by the short hairs, and she should publicly blackmail them, just like they blackmail everybody with threats in order to get what they want. And then, when they refuse to play ball, that send key should be hit out there: to Drudge, to Rush, to Rolling Stone, to Taranto at the Wall Street Journal, to the NY Times, to the National Enquirer, to the British tabloids, to the Toronto papers: all around the world.
Let me go, or I will bring the house down on top of you.
You won't let me go?
Fine. Then die, politically, all of you.
She should take them down.
