By 2020 PRC may have enough stolen technology to build some sort of flying ashcan. I doubt they can do it on their own..

You are probable right, I can imagine that it will look like an old Ford Tri-motor with jet engines. LOL

China has been forcing Boeing to "partner" with their domestic manufacturers building parts of the Boeing planes sold to Chinese airlines. A bit of blackmail/kickback arrangement to clinch needed sales quotas. Meanwhile the ChiComs have been quick students in learning all about Boeing's manufacturing processes, much of which has duel uses for military aircraft as well.

And take a look at the alumni roles of most American aerospace universities and you will see quite a few Chinese names there, especially in the graduate programs. Most can't get jobs in US defense companies, but they can take their knowledge back to China. Also the commercial side of Boeing probably has not a few H1B visa workers from China, who may end up running things back in China someday.

Also their major hydro plants are probably hooked up to some major aluminum production foundries.
