Thanks for your description (you are a good writer). I have to admit that for a few minutes I was seething with hatred for these "revolutionaries." I would be banned if I expressed some of my thoughts. Then I read your post and I had to laugh at them a little. Thanks for deflating my anger. My real anger is at the older people who know better but have their own agenda -- some political science or sociology professors that fed these kids Marxist crap.

Ma'am, I'd like you to know that I saw some "Candle holders" while taking my boy back from little league practice tonight, and I told my seven year old boy that Dad was going to talk to them. I locked him in the vehicle, walked a short distance, introduced myself and explained my background as a Marine Corps Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, engaged in a short but blunt discussion with them, and left.

In my corner of liberal la-la land, North of Seattle, the protesters were mostly middle aged so youth didn't excuse the naive ignorance I heard. The basic line I got was that if we leave the world alone everyone would stop attacking us, and the war was a lie.

I won't repeat what I said for various reasons, but rest assured that at least some of these morons got to hear from somebody who has been there and seen what our Marines in Iraq are really about, and what kind of enemy they face.

I do care that you are offended by these idiots.

You have one of the toughest jobs in the Corps, and Moms get no medals for a job well done. Semper Fi to you and your fine son.

Interesting skull on the effigy in the picture. Supposed to be an ape? Neanderthal? Shows you what these @sswipes REALLY think of our troops! Deja vu all over again [Y. Berra].

Some nut is going to open fire on a crowd of these scumbags someday, and the MSM will blame all conservatives.

Then I see one of their signs where they say "blank the troops" and I am really angry again. I hope they outgrow their stupidity but most of them will grow up to be angry hateful Marxist tyrants. I want to say, blank them.

I'm looking at these pictures and I feel like I'm going to vomit.

I'm SO SORRY that anybody with a family member in our military has to put up with this.

What can we do? Who can we call to get this out to the national media? The country needs to see this.

I hope not but anything is possible. There are a lot of unbalanced people out there. These nuts just lower the quality of discourse and I think that is what they want to do.

When I worked at the SF Chronicle and saw how ugly most of them were, it made sense that they were angry at the world. This is a cry for help from some very sad individuals.

F*** The Troops 19.Mar.2007 12:28

another white male for anarchy link

"Yeah, my impulse is to shout "f*** the troops", but to do this we have to forget an important detail: members of US military are deceived, tricked into joining up. Lies about money for college, for example. Poor people join the miltary, so "f*** the troops" coming from middle class white kids with options is bullsh**. We're lucky the army isn't our ONLY ticket out a f***ed up life. Also, let's not forget all the insurgents who're joining the Iraqi police and military for the free training and the free guns and ammo. Anarchists say "f*** the troops" but go running when the troops come gunning, because we don't know how to shoot back. Nonetheless, if someone breaks into your house (or country) with a gun and starts shooting up the place, f*** em, even if they have anti-war mom's back home."

"They don't have my support" 19.Mar.2007 16:47

expat in Kiwiland link

"It was their choice to join the military, and it continues to be their choice in fighting. Why should I support them? No way. It's not just Bush/Cheney and the ruling class thats the problem... its the ones pulling the triggers too. However, the ones that refuse to fight have my undying support."

to answer a question 19.Mar.2007 19:52

with a question link

First some premises:

"1) Hitler ordered the invasion of Poland in 1939 telling the German people it was necessary to protect their safety. Of course, documents show that the invasion had been planned far in advance (certainly prior to the Gleiwitz attack) and was just the first objective in a larger plan."

"1) Bush Jr ordered the invasion of Iraq in 2003 telling the US people it was necessary to protect their safety. Of course, documents show that the invasion had been planned far in advance (certainly prior to the 9/11 attack) and was just the first objective in a larger plan."

So the question one can ask, to gain some historical perspective and objectivity, is:

Should the German people have supported the Nazi troops?

"I've never really understood the whole "burning in effigy thing"

It's considered a Public Pronouncement of your lack of respect for whatever it is you are destroying...

Funny how the media coverage of the Moonbat Marches doesn't include this, eh??

Why, something like this could change public opinion, and the Mainstream media CANNOT allow that!!

What a bunch of whiny wimps - won't even show their little, pathetic, chicken faces. Suffering from a mental disorder, no doubt. If I ever see that happening, I will search for a fire extinguisher or get some water and put out the fire.

Idiots...pure idiots.
