Yes, that was a treat. Hopefully next time we'll be able to make the trip too. And if our son and daughter-in-law could make the trip up and meet us there, oh that would be grand!
According to Kristinn interview on Fox yesterday, various media outlets were informed. It appears that the media choose not to cover the GOE.
Well then, that's all you can do. I did suggest on another thread that technically proficient FReepers gather 50 or so images from various Support the Troops FReeps and five minutes of properly edited video, burn it to a CD or two and walk it down to the VFW or Am. Legion or whoever is collecting items for the troops. All of these CDs of Americans supporting the troops might be a good morale boost to our warriors, as they do not see the supportive protests on the news, only smelly hippies. The 50 picture and five minute video limit will allow military officials to quickly check the CDs for porn and other undesirable info befor they pass it to the troops.
All your photos and reports are excellent! Thanks for your hard work!
Some how the news has to get out.
That's an excellent idea, rapidralph.
I've actually sent Michelle Malkin's video off to a few friends of mine who live in different states. They are forwarding it on as well.
To make it easy for them, the press conference was held at the National Press Club.
ABC News radio, Fox News, CNN, AP, WTOP, Hearst newspapers, and WJLA (DC ABC affiliate) bothered to attend.
ABC News radio, AP, WTOP and WJLA ran stories that day, and then washed their hands of it.
Two days before the rally, another press release was issued (notice placed in AP daybook) and announced a press availability for the day before the rally at our rally site.
All four local TV news stations (WRC-4, WJLA-7, WUSA-9, WTTG-Fox5) WTOP and WMAL radio, Washington Post, Washington Times were all personally contacted.
The media has no excuse for their near-total news blackout, other than that they couldn't care less, about the vets, the Wall and other memorials or our current military.
They wanted only to report on the "huge" anti-war movement.
AMEN
I appreciate the explanation, Tak. I'm very happy that the Chapter's efforts paid off in the support shown for the troops.
The pictures are inspirational. Thanks for posting them.
Look for the boxes on the left off the bridge under the tree. It was pamphlets the lefties were going to hand out after the march. Somehow they got pissed on and they could hand them out.
