Why in the world is a flunked divinity student allowed to become an expert witness on global warming? I think this is a great move. It's not like anything Gore has to say is anything "new", so one just needs to be prepared with facts to counter the claims.

The REPUBs should have prevented him from testifying today given he failed to meet even the shortened time frame. Gore was only a former senator so its understandable he might not respect senate rules (sarcasm fully intended).
It nice we have a caste system in the US. If you or I pulled such a stunt before a congrestional committe (I once did testify before a house environmental subcommittee), they would hardly be willing to tolerate such arrogance.
Gore is a global warming special interest. His carbon credits comapny makes more money when more people are guilt tripped into making up for their carbon emissions.
