TRUTH ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING TOO INCONVENIENT FOR GORE While former Vice President Al Gore did his best to limit his exposure while testifying at Congressional hearings, he cannot hide from the various mistakes, misstatements and outright falsehoods in his movie and books on global warming, says H. Sterling Burnett, senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis.
There are several instances where Gore is out-of- step with science, says Burnett:
Gore implies that human-caused global warming is instigating a decline in the snow pack on Mount Kilimanjaro; however, according to studies in the International Journal of Climatology and the Journal of Geophysical Research, the retreat began in the late 19th century -- before most human greenhouse gases were emitted. Gore also says that human-caused global warming poses a threat of extinction to polar bears; yet current polar bear numbers have increased dramatically, from around 5,000 polar bears in the mid- century to between 22,000 and 25,000 today. Additionally, Gore has implied that in the near future global warming threatens to raise sea levels between 20 and 40 feet, swamping coastlines and creating 200 million refugees:
However, the 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report provides a high estimate of only 17 inches of sea level rise in the next century -- less than half its previous high estimate. And a 2005 study in the Journal of Glaciology by a NASA scientist concludes the glacial loss is occurring slowly: 0.05 millimeters on average per year. At that rate, it will take a millennium for the oceans to rise 5 centimeters (roughly 2 inches) and 20,000 years to rise a full meter. DANG, that picture is scary.
They're both waiting for somebody to put something in their mouths, and it won't be a banana.
Lying has always been the MO for liberals and they really don't care if they are caught. Lying to promote their agenda is a badge of honor for them.
Perhaps the most disturbing thing about this whole sorry affair is that the drive-by media never questions AlGore's credentials. He was a very poor student and science was not his field, to say nothing of climatology or meteorology. Yet, he is treated as some sort of expert.
What's next--Chuck Schumer on the BBC discussing the World Championship of Cricket? Maybe we'll see Hillary Clinton on the Discovery Channel telling us what the skeletons at Stonehenge mean.
I listened to some of Gore's testimony yesterday on C-SPAN 3
and it looks like the big thing with him is carbon taxes and incandescent light bulbs - - for one and against the other. He wants an absolute ban on these lightbulbs. In northern parts of the USA, during the cold months, the heat given off by incandescent light bulbs goes into the house and would cut the amount of fuel needed to heat the house.
We tried using fluorescent lights in our barn and they won't even come on when the temperatures are low. So someone has got to convince all sheep not to have lambs at night - - not a bad idea, from my point of view, but hard to implement.
Latest Weather Channel Headline:
COLOSTOMY REVEALS GORE'S GLOBAL FLATULENCE AS ANOTHER DEMOCRATIC BM!
Not to mention that despite that earlier decline, the 20th century ended with those regions showing a net gain in mass and size.
MSM is in step with Gore however, they fail to mention these glaring inconsistancies of Gores, and instead focus on his rediculous statements as if they were gospel truth. The lastest statement blared 24 hours a day by MSM is Gores comparision to a fevered child visiting a doctor. "Would you not treat the fevered child as the doctor prescribes? The Earth has a fever". Makes me ill.
A caller to WRKO just made a great statement about Gore's credibility. At the DNCC Gore told the story of his dying sister and how he vowed to bring down the tobacco industry. Six months later he was at a convention of tobacco farmers bragging about how he chopped and stacked the tobacco with his hands.
Damn facts getting in the way of all Gore's fun, spoiling the global warming wave he is trying to ride with his political surf board.
"If a Democrat's lips are moving, they are lying!"
