Like I said, I'm not a Rudy supporter. I thought he was great for NY. I saw Time Square in 1973 and then again in 2003. It was incredible what he did with the city and of course his leadership in 2001. Do I want him as President? No.I would choose a number of other people for President before him. But if it were between Rudy and Hillary (or something comparable), not even close. You'll notice I said something, not someone. I'd vote for him in a NY second. In 2008, if Republicans stay home because it's not "their" candidate, IMO,this country is toast.

If Giuliani supporters continue to promote their liberal candidate on a conservative website, they can expect to be attacked by the people who are most offended by Giuliani's record, social conservatives. It is a full 10 months before the first primary. If Republicans stay home because he is the best the GOP could do, that is not our fault. I will vote, but it won't be for Giuliani or any Democrat.

"they can expect to be attacked....."
I understand you mean verbally, but do you think that's the best social conservatives can do? It seems to me that attacking the messenger instead of the message defeats the purpose. That's a tactic used by DU. A 3rd party candidate has never won. IF Giuliani is the Repub canidate, every Republican who doesn't vote for him, is voting for the Democrat (i.e. Lieberman/Lamont). Someone is going to be President. I can't think a Democrat I'd perfer to Giuliani.

I used Lieberman/Lamont as an example. A much better choice would have been the 92 election between Clinton, Bush and Perot. Then it was about taxes instead. Republicans angry at Bush (and I was one), broke ranks and supported Perot. This in effect handed the Clinton(s) the presidency. God, forgive me. The country is so evenly split between red and blue, none of us can afford to stay home. The stakes are to high.

Just what do you mean by that crack? The convention has never been in sexual therapy. I am Southern Baptist and very proud of it. My minister has been here since the late 1970's and he teaches directly from the Bible verse by verse. I think you owe some of us an apology.

If we do not get a candidate we can support, I suspect that many will stay home. I think there are about 16,000,000 of us.

Why are you believing in polls now when all others do not mean a thing? It is far too early to start believing anything in polls. You sound like a dem. Lockstep!

"Again, there are NO true conservative Republican announced candidates yet."
That's not true. Duncan Hunter is the prototypical conservative Republican. Chuck Yeager is campaigning for him. But unfortunately, Congressmen don't win the Presidency. I'm hoping if Fred jumps in the race and wins the nomination, he'll make Duncan his Veep.

I am Catholic and a woman who has an abortion is automatically excommunicated by the seriousness of the sin. Although women who repent of their actions and with contrite hearts seek forgiveness should receive it.

"Duncan Hunter is the prototypical conservative Republican"Prototypical Conservative?
Even if that were true (and I don't agree on that), Duncan Hunter is not electable, due to lack of National name-recognition, and MSM biased non-coverage to assure it remains so.
Fred Thompson would be far more likely to succeed in a National election than Duncan Hunter.
