No! That's unfortunate but there may have been a good reason.
Because it took several weeks for the President to even get to the WH - what with the recount after recount after recount and trips to court, etc. .. hitting the ground running was important. To have to stop and regroup and select 93 attorneys and get them through the vetting process may have seemed like the last thing they wanted to do .. considering all the other items they were already behind on.
Of course, in hindsight .. it might have been a better solution. At least the GOP was still in charge of congress and hopefully would not have made a stink about it.
