SUPPOSE SOMEONE offered to import 350 foreign workers to New Bedford to work for less than the minimum wage. Since the unemployment rate is over 8 percent, we would expect public outrage. The city needs jobs, not more unskilled laborers. So it is no surprise that citizens seeking jobs started lining up at the Michael Bianco plant after Immigration and Customs Enforcement uncovered 350 illegal immigrants.

Right, like all those "lazy" construction workers who can no longer compete because of the low wages accepted by those "hard working" criminal foreigners.
I have 2 good friends that have lost their businesses because of the illegals. Both had home improvement companies. They could not compete with an army of Mexicans. John Doe bids a job to finish a basement. He has 2 workers besides himself. In his bid he has to pay labor, account for taxes, disablilty ins. etc. Jose comes with his crew of 10 and does it for less and in half the time. They don't have the insurance, they come in one vehicle, and then they all live together, so they can afford to do the job cheaper. My friends have families and now in their 40's are looking for new careers because they cannot compete in the business anymore.
The Repbulican elite couldn't care less about the working class. Heck, even the Democrats don't care about their own unionized working class, save government workers, government teachers and such.

I can count dozens of small LEGAL businesses driven under by illegals here in FFLD county CT.
It isn't "can't". It's "won't".
Besides, why should consumers continue to be gouged by their fellow Americans? The fact that illegals will do the same work for cheap is proof that American consumers in the past have been gouged by Americans in construction that have been overcharging them for construction work.
How do you feel about that slavery issue?
Marking for later read ;^)
Add myself and my father to that list.
