yeah, I thought they were pussies..... now I'm sure of it....

yeah, I guess I would depend on my son and daughters to "have my back"... cover it as well.

I didn't realize that you weren't supposed to defend your family...silly me.

That's why I've trained the kids to shoot since they were mature enough to realize that they could kill something. that's what hunting, skeet shooting and target practice is for.

Each one matured differently and the three oldest can be depended on to not put their finger on the trigger unless they're gonna fire. Never point a gun at anything they weren't sure they were going to shoot and kill. and never assume that any gun is ever empty.

wife was somewhat hesitant to learn about weapons till somebody tried to get in the front door while I was at work and the cops took about 20 minutes to get to the house.

I think our dog scared him/her away since it was 3 a.m. and a German Shepard sounds nasty from the other side of the door.

we only had one kid at the time, but it scared her enough to realize that if somebody had gotten in the house, the pistol she had in her hand from our drawer would have been useless unless she learned how to operate the safety and clear a gun if it jams.

I guess I'm just glad that we both have the freedom to choose self defense or not. I chose to teach my family how to use a pistol, shotgun and rifle to defend themselves. You are free to call 9-11. Neat, huh?
