US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama can now count himself as one of the millions of Americans with Irish heritage.
Research by the genealogy website ancestry.co.uk reveals that Mr Obama's great great great grandfather was born in Ireland, although it is not yet known where.

In genealogy, in order to claim you know somebody's place of birth -- you must know their place of birth.
Back in those days, people went to Ireland from Scotland and England (and a few from other places, too). So to say conclusively you know something about an individual without a date and place of birth is NOT solid genealogy.
