According to the Census figures, in 1990 there were 2.4 million Mexican-born residents of California. In 2000 the figure was 3.9 million Mexican-born residents. The foreign born population of California in 2000 was 8.8 million [out of a total population of 33.8 million], which means one out of every four residents of California is foreign born.

In 2000, there were 11 million Hispanics/Latinos in California or one in every three residents. There were 2.2 million African-Americans.

In 2000 LA had a population of 3.7 million, with 1.8 million being Hispanic/Latino of any race. There were 369 thousand African Americans. 1.5 million residents of LA are foreign-born or about 40% of the population. And 2 million speak a language other than English at home.

Is LA an American city?

I think we both know the answer to that but let me give you a quote from a recent best selling book on the illegal invasion:

"If one wishes to see America's future, he need only drive through L.A. Sifting through census data from year 2000, three writers from the L.A. Times discovered the coming America in the sprawing county that has become a polyglot nation where extremes of wealth and poverty mirror those of the Third World. 44.6% of the population of Los Angeles County is Hispanic, making the Mexican population of Los Angeles second only to that of Mexico City."
