The men in the bright green row are the police officers at the lead of the protest, yet somehow the anti-US crew managed to get a whole bunch of large signs there. The problem is that that space was already occupied by counterprotesters. Notice that the orange signs are much larger than the men in green. I don't think that anyone posting here was carrying one of those, let alone a bunch of them.
Some of the greenies might also be the lawyers and media, but if you look at other photos you will notice that they maintained a row at the head of the protest.
Look at the elongated shot. The front row is on grass.

So is the person that is holding the Get out of Iraq sign that is in the very front on one pic and in the middle on the other pic the same person? Or are those two different signs? I know these could have been photos taken minutes apart and crowds move around and move their signs around. But there just seems to be so many more people and signs in the foreground on one pic and not the other.
