The video depicts one of the off-duty officers, who is a sergeant, waving off a responding officer, a law enforcement source said. The responding officers
then left the scene.

I'm glad my little town has good cops who don't need to do much of anything but write a couple of tickets.

Robert Heinlein: "An armed society is a polite society".
With the DEMOCRATIC engineered total civilian disarmament in Chicago this is no surprise.

Again we see the less than 1% making the rest of our police look like Nazi. I am ashamed to see them allow some dumb idiots to destroy the respect that the people have toward them. But I guess the critics are right when they say the blue line lies to protect even the worst.

A lot of bad cop stories in the news lately. A few days ago in Colorado a drunken ex-cop killed two teens.

But when patrol officers responded, the off-duty officers involved allegedly spoke to them and the patrol officers left without intervening, sources said. If this is true, then Chicago has a huge problem.

With the militarization of police through SWAT teams come no-knock deadly raids. Now off-duty police wave officers off crimes in progress. The WOD and WOT funding give up a police force that takes the hyperbole out of 'tyranny.' I've had enough law & order from the conservatives, thanks.

Six on four? Sounds like off-duty Chicago cops. When I was back visiting old friends over Xmas - a number of whom are Chicago fireman - I was surprised at the negative attitude towards Chicago cops. Starting to see where that comes from.

This happened in the middle of December and it is now the end of March, why hasn't the PD acted? I can't get to the story as it requires registration but it would seem to me that there should have been a whole bunch of officers pulled out of duty pending a full investigation.
I understand that police are a tight group, my dad carried a badge, but that doesn't excuse what is going on in Chicago. The officers there must figure that they have protection from the top officials of the department and must say it sure looks like it. The chief should have acted way before this and from what I can read he still hasn't acted. Bad, very bad.

3 months without any charges? Its things like this that make people angry. Not that the cops were involved with the beating, but the fact that no charges have been filed despite videotape evidence.

In case someone refers to Mayor Daley as a "conservative":
From Wikipedia:
"Daley has been a supporter of gun control, with a de facto ban on handguns in Chicago [3].
"Daley is also a supporter of LGBT rights and Chicago's gay community. Chicago hosted the Gay Games VII, with Mayor Daley officially opening the games at opening ceremonies.
"Daley is helping create initiatives to increase green roof usage within the city. Chicago City Hall's own rooftop, completed in 2001, being a pilot of that program. "

Any of the real attorneys here know if this incident is grounds for a 1983 suit, since the cops waved off the patrol officers? Perhaps that makes them acting under the color of law? If so, the businessman should be talking to the Feds.
