I wonder how the dead of the lead defense attorney is going to affect this case?
*self serving pander ping*
Obama's "Sistah Souljah" contribution to the campaign.
I am no fan of Obama, but is there any position he could have taken on the Duke case that wouldn't make him viewed with cynicism ?
Many years ago rapes were rarely reported - except when there was trauma - and evidence was not gathered in a standardized manner. As a result many rapists were not prosecuted and if they were they got off for lack of evidence. The rape kit, and standardized protocol, changed that situation.
"The state bar is conducting a very thorough investigation into all aspects of Mr. Nifong's handling of the case," Freedman told ABC News. "It's appropriate for this to be dealt with by a North Carolina agency, not by someone from another state. I do not see the need for any other agency becoming involved at this point."
I'm flabbergasted! Just as Nixon said of Watergate: Enough is enough.
LOL Maybe his defense stategy? Too dumb to know what ethical is?
I'm thinkin' that's a real possibility -- a well-timed "Oops".
Obama is no different than any other Democrat, is he? What is going to happen when all charges are dropped in Durham? Will the community riot? Will Obama come down to calm them? I doubt it.
You mean "Sistah Souljah."
Obama did something no other presidential candidate or senator has done.
Kudos to him for that.
The question is not why so much he did it, but why haven't the others done anything? This makes them look like cowards holding their fingers in the air to check which way the wind is blowing before they even comment on the worst example of judicial abuses since Scottsboro.
Talk is cheap.
And btw, the defendants (Evans, Finnerty, and Seligmann) have NOTHING going for them (innocence doesn't count for much in NC) except the public spotlight. Thanks to Obama for doing his part.
Help keep that light focused brightly on Durham :

Oops - yeah. (I had second thoughts as I was typing it, then decided not to research....)
Besides, they all look alike anyways. ;)
Man alive, blacks are really gonna hate him now, right Rev. Al?
Probably not much if the weather is still cool. If we get a heat wave all hell will break loose. Walmart better make sure their insurance premiums are all paid up - especially for the HDTV department.
