The latest USA Today/Gallup poll, conducted Friday through Sunday, on the presidential race is out, and it's a humdinger. It's hard to say what the headline even is. Here are a few tries, though:

* Romney's support drops to within the margin of error of not existing (that's 3% support in a poll where the margin of error is 3%).

* Giuliani's support drops 13 percentage points since the last USA Today/ Gallup poll, March 2-4 (that's gotta hurt).

* Fred Thompson (not running, by the way) is now the No. 3 in the GOP field, at 12%.

Equating abortions to Jewish death camps offends this secular WASP. But I am sure that is your opinion.

How many died in Nazi death camps? How many die daily in Sangerite abortion mills?

Gingrich was 8% in this poll. Thompson's 4 points above the guy who has been "not running" for 4 years now. and only 19 points behind the guy that has been running non-stop for the past 4 years.

The whole point of Giuliani supporters is to turn the Republican party liberal on social issues. That's why they want Giuliani, and no one else. That, and an unhealthy obsession with 9/11.

New York Observer: Reagan Republican quote.

Do you claim to be objective? There are tons of quotes out there where Rudy praises Reagan.

You've said this twice, so I'll correct you: It's 12%, not 13%.

You are welcome.

My tentative sense is that unless Rudy self implodes (unlikely) Fred Thompson is the only tangibly realistic roadblock to Rudy. Thompson if he is focused and disciplined, and gets in somewhat sooner than the fall, could derail Rudy. I don't see any other GOP candidate doing that, at the moment.

Rudy's support is weak. Fred will enter the race and I believe he will win the nomi'.

There are a lot of Giuliani supporters with soaking wet pants, compliments of the pending candidacy of Fred Thompson.

It is a bit more than a numbers game. Slaugtering those actually on this mortal coil because of whom they are, is a bit different than the issue of the legal right of a mother to abort her own fetus. Having said that, I abhor late term abortions, but that to equate that to the systematic genocide of an ethnic group, via state power, against their will, at the point of a gun, is really quite an evil equating really. As I said, I find it profoundly offensive.

I'm not sure what their motive is. But the cheerleading for him tells me they want liberalism.

Unless, we can get Narses to be Fred's campaign manager, perhaps. :)

That year, the former mayor earned some $8 million in speaking fees alone, more than $650,000 per month.

Are you actually complaining about this. If people want to pay Rudy to speak, what's it to you?

God bless the free market.

As I said, I find it profoundly offensive.

The only way you can find it offensive is if you deny the humanity of the unborn.

Which is how these things get accomplished...by denying their humanity.

Can you at least see that if one does believe that the unborn are fully human, the tragedy is just as real?

Must... Resist.... Temptation.. To Go Along.... With.... Thread..... Hijack..........

Nope, can't do it.:

Indeed, in one recent poll, majorities of Republicans who were informed of Giuliani’s views on social issues said that they were either minor issues or no issues at all; only 16% said that they wouldn't vote for him after being informed of these views.

When you first ask people for an opinion, and you then tell them good reasons why their opinion they just committed to could be wrong, most people will naturally say that whatever you just told them is of no concern, and would not effect their opinion.

People hate to admit that an opinion they just signed up to is wrong. It's much easier to influence people before they make a decision than after they do. It's why so many people can be talked into buying time shares.
