Serbian President Boris Tadic said Serbia strongly disagreed with the State Department’s decision to back Ahtisaari’s Kosovo plan. “Any form of independence for Kosovo-Metohija is unacceptable for Serbia, and we will strive to express the need to reach a compromise solution through continued negotiations in our contacts with the UN Security Council member states,” Tadic told U.S. Under secretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns in a telephone conversation. Tadic said he saw “room for further dialogue”, as well as that the UN special Kosovo envoy Martti Ahtisaari had “not yet exhausted all potential for negotiations”, the president’s press office said in a statement issued today. “Serbia is ready to take a constructive part in further talks,” Tadic said, stressing it was “vitally important to do all in order to ensure peace and stability in Kosovo.” Tadic said that was “for the most part NATO’s responsibility”, adding that Serbia was ready to help maintain peace and stability in the province.
Would we accept a foreign power forcing us to abandon Washington, DC to independence and alignment with enemies?
Before you answer, you should know two things:
1) Kosovo is the traditional (centuries old) capital province of Serbia.
2) Kosovo has become demographically 90% Albanian. The Albanians are sponsoring the KLA (Islamic terrorist organization) in their efforts to split off Kosovo for eventual union with Albania.
So tell me, when have the authorities in Washington DC acted similarly against the citizenry there, by way of rendering your analogy worthy of consideration?
What an idea!
Hoppie, you're talking nonsense again...
Serbian position: Reality = Nonsense.
Noted, again.
Jeez. You have to be the most worthless poster I have seen on FR.
Are you a memeber of Greater AllBarnia?
You're not taking on someone ignorant of what occurred in Kosovo nor who Clinton sided with--I had a front row seat. Your post suggests you, on the other hand, are ignorant of the situation. That problem can only be rectified by research.
Where? In Washington DC when we ethnically cleansed the city, or in some alternate reality Kosovo where Serbian depredations didn't occur?
See? This is me doing research.
Then it's clear you will remain ignorant. Don't bother posting to me again on this subject until you have something more to offer besides your ill-informed opinion. I will ignore you.
Were I to confine my research to veritable fonts of information such as yourself, then, yes, I would remain ignorant.
Happily, that's not the case.
So while you can deride me as being ignorant for refusing to play along with your little alternate reality view of Kosovo, it isn't me who has to attempt to reconcile American policy there with that alternate reality version of events, is it?
Toodles.
Yes, you've had the pleasure of meeting Free Republic's most estwhile supporter of Jihad.
He knows full well that the Albanians carried on a long term program of illegal immigration into Kosovo followed by a violent pogrom against the Serb, Jewish, and Roma civilians who were living there legally.
And he also knows full well that the Muhammedans began squealing like frightened women when the Serbs gave them back a small fraction of what the Jihadists had been dishing out.
Who's to say what motivates such Dhimmis as this? Perhaps some just prefer to live on their knees.
He is a most consistent Jihadist cheerleader, of that there can be no doubt!
No, that is you spouting more nonsense as assuredly as the sun rises in the East.
You got that right. I guess he likes causing friction here on FR.
...no one can accuse us of being anything but factual!
