The cancer, originally in his colon, has spread to his liver, said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. Snow spoke to President Bush Tuesday morning, who told Snow he and first lady Laura Bush are praying for him.

Bush struck an optimistic tone about Snow's mood, adding that he looked forward to the day when Snow returns to the White House.

This sucks.

Damn.

Anyone know what is the expectations for successful treatment?

I know things have been getting better and better for treating cancers over the years.

Prayers are needed, maybe in front of him, too.

Tony Snow is one of the best hires the Bush administration ever did.

If it's in his liver, he's most likely not going to survive the year, if one of my close family member's experience is a good gauge.

I’ve been fighting the same Stage 4 cancer as Tony for over 4 years. I have a full time jon (50+ hours a week and am currently undergoing my third round of Chemo. The long term prognosis, for me is pretty good. I pray that it is at least as good for Tony.

Never fast enough. Our neighbor was just diagnosed with terminal, inoperable, incurable intestinal cancer. They have given him 6-12 months to live. Imagine where we would be with cancer today if they received the money that has gone to AIDS in the last 20 years.

Every cancer is different. Stage 4 liver cancer (what I have) is treatable. Hard to cure, but treatable.

I just said pretty much the same thing on another thread. What makes me angry is that AIDS is fully preventable. How about pumping some $$$$ into research for cancer which can strike anyone at anytime. Of course, it's hard to compete with Bono, Elizabeth Taylor and the loud-mouth AIDS activists.

I'll bet you said it a lot better than I did.

"What makes me angry is that AIDS is fully preventable."

If I smoked a pack a day for forty years, how much sympathy would I get from the left if I got lung cancer?

Zero.

I just read those vile comments shown on Little Green Footballs. Clearly the detractors have no shame. It is a testament to everything I had always known about the kinds of people who wallow and feed in the decay found in the lunatic mainstream of American Liberalism. "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."
