The WH use of the media is, at best, pathetic.

Clearly, the single biggest failure of the Bush administration.

"Clearly, the single biggest failure of the Bush administration."

So you do you want state sponsored media or do you want to find a way to deal with a dem infested press? I'm all ears.

LOL, we have a state press in NPR and PBS. If the administration were more effective at using the press, like they were in the first few years, we'd be a hell of a lot better off. Yes, I am aware the press is the enemy of the administration, but they could definitely do a better job utilizing their services.

Good post. It seems like Bush is now in the "run out the clock" mode for his Presidency. A couple of things you said are right on. There is no way he can "get along" with the congressional democrats. I think he still feels like he's in Texas where there do exist "reasonable" dems. In Washington there are simply NO honorable libs. If he doesn't fight back and I mean HARD, they are going to just eviscerate him. I don't understand him at all. He really doesn't have anything to lose by playing hardball now with the dems, on EVERYTHING. Why not take the chance?

The Democrats cannot have it both ways. They can't say that the Iraqis must do more, and then take away the funds that will help them do so. Iraq is a young democracy. It is fighting for its survival in a region that is vital to our security. The lesson of September the 11th must not be forgot. To cut off support for the security forces would put our own security at risk.

I'm glad he's coming out swinging on this!

One of those messages is the publicity side. Reagan had it, Bush II didn't. It's a shame, as this greatly factors into how both men are displayed to the public and how they will be remembered.

Oh, please! At this same time in the Reagan presidency, Reagan was hounded just as much by the media, and was not able to get done what he wanted to do, either. I'm not sure his approval ratings were any better than President Bush's when you compare the time frames.
