The European Union says it will use taxation and other tools to help cut greenhouse gas emissions over the next 13 years.

As part of a new public debate on the issue, European Commission officials Stavros Dimas and Laszlo Kovacs said that the international group would implement market-based tools in its attempt to significantly limit the dangerous emissions by 2020, The EU Observer said.

Key among those market tools would be increased taxation on environmentally hazardous energy products

Raising taxes and increasing government control in the name of Mother Earth. What a great scam.

That's great news! Given how our birkenstockers are in love with higher taxation, maybe this will be what gets them to leave.

I love this story. Hopefully the EU will further cripple its competitive abilities and the US can watch and learn (if that's possible for liberals) from over the horizon.

The European Union says it will use taxation and other tools to help cut greenhouse gas emissions over the next 13 years.

At a minimum these pagan morons will entertain us with their pathetic antics while they punish members of the EU. Taking action to reduce global warming is nonsense. Climate change has been going on for millions of years. If Mars and other planets in our solar system are experiencing global warming, so is the Earth. The Sun is the source of the climate change the Earth has experienced and will continue to experience. Of course, in the study of the origins of religion, it started with worship of the Sun, the Earth, and other objects.

Taxation, because rich liberals don't want to pay for their own Carbon Offsets.

In other words....we'll ration carbon to keep you in your place....almost identical to using food and forced famine to mange people though most of human history. animals.

I suggest the following rule.

All homes on the beach over 3000 square feet that do not use alternative fuels to run, have to be torn down.

Carbon credits are not tax deductible and only apply to homes over 4500 square feet and apartments over 2500 square feet. Second homes, less then 2500 square feet are ok, but third homes have a 100% carbon credit which equals the property tax on that home. Renting the home doesn't exempt you.

The money paid goes to the state to buy alternatve enegry vehicles as well as to invest in alternative energy solutions.

The federal government cannot touch the money and all contracts to get the jobs will be held during public hearings.

The declaration of Independance says "to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men." When government causes pain and misery instead, it is time for it to go.

Now you know that some power plants in Holland switched to palm oil from Indonesia. Then some fanatics went there and disapproved of the culture methods. Now the palm oil is out and the farmers in Indonesia are screwed. What's next? There is no way to please these malcontents.

I still have a whole empty warehouse full of carbon credits to sell. This taxation idea will send me down the tubes.

"There is no way to please these malcontents"

True. But the good news is, now the other (conservative) side is starting to be heard through Fox news and forums like these. Many people see these tactics for what they are.
You just don't hear their views on the nightly news.

There's a cool intersection between the demise of the dinosaur media and the growing skepticism about CO2 based global warming. As the hysteria rises the newspapers lose readership. The alternative media is tiny but growing. But the old media won't go down easily!

The goal is complete control over you, your actions and even what you think. Remember, the best form of censorship is self-censorship.
