Rudy would have come to a full stop! Thompson is a lawbreaking rino! This whole Thompson thing is nothing more than a ruse by Chevy to sell more red pickup trucks. I can't understand why you people don't see what's right in front of your eyes...
To: Always Right
I don't know, I heard once that Thompson did not come to a complete stop at a stop sign. Such disrepect of the law has to raise questions about his suitability for the Presidency. I also heard he dated women after his divorce from his first wife. Imagine that!

It would be funnier if I couldn't actually picture a Rudy supporter making that accusation...

I'm guessing that Fred doesn't want to officially declare his candidacy too early. The entire 2008 campaign began prematurely and a fatigue-factor could set in, not to mention if Fred declares now it gives the MSM more time to slander and lie about him. Sounds like stategery to me. Not to mention, as long as he doesn't declare officially, he gets the benefits of 1) all of the media buzz about "will he or won't he", and 2) the additional (non-regulated) exposure from filling in for Paul Harvey and his Law and Order appearances.

I respectfully suggest that the reason(s) Thompson is currently in third is that 1--he hasn't declared yet, 2--people know his face but not his name, 3--people don't know his policies.
2 and 3 will be cleared up when he does 1.

Think about this:
Romney is a great fundraiser. Thompson hasn't raised or spent a dime, and two weeks after just hinting of a run, he's all but evaporated Romney's numbers to an asterisk.

Only a politician could utter the words "VERY AGRESSIVELY considering" without blushing. Pure nonsense.Well, what would you expect from leaders who have so often and clearly demonstrated their mastery of "courageous capitulation"? /grin

"It scares me just a bit that Fred seems well liked by a Chris Matthews type. " My thought exactly! Tho, I'm sure that if it looks like Fred Thompson will win the Rep primary than Chrissy will change his tune and find a reason to spray some spittle Thompson's way.

“Over the next several weeks, and it could even be months, he’s going to continue to consider it very, very aggressively,” Frist added. There is also this from The Sleuth yesterday:
Behind the scenes, former senator and current "Law and Order" actor Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.), who is being wooed by GOP wise men to run for president, sat with colleagues at ABC News, where he's a radio commentator. His wife, Jeri, certainly looked the role of a presidential candidate's spouse, smiling and wearing an atypically conservative black dress, showing no skin below the neck, unlike what she wore last year to another black-tie dinner. Hmmm, is the new more subdued look a clue to Thompson's plans?
