Me too. That is why I make a point of being a good family man, friend, and neighbor. Not only is it the right thing to do, and not only is it rewarding now, but it is a safety net should I ever need the help of others. The family, and the neighborhood, are social institutions for people to mutually support each other. When nobody is there for you, the chances are that you were never there for them, and that you were a jerk. The circumstance of him dying alone, and some of the things said about him in this article, suggest that he was a jerk, and that is why he died alone.
