I don't know about this guy, but some people are just very quiet and reserved. If I didn't have any immediate family in the area, I wouldn't have a whole lot of interaction with other people. I like it that way, but I don't think that makes me a bad person. I just prefer my own company.

I know some perfectly nice old folks who have literally outlived all their friends and family. The ones I know are in nursing homes now, wondering why God hasn't bothered to take them yet. Many wouild have preferred to stay in their longtime homes, and probably die like this old man did, rather than drag it out with the help of an institution they didn't choose or care about.
