The Safety of Many Should Trump the Hurt Feelings of the Few

A provision was added to HR 1401(Rail and Public Transportation Security Act 2007) which says that all Americans, airline passengers included, must be protected from lawsuits if they report suspicious behaviour that may foreshadow a terrorist attack. The measure was sponsored by Rep. Peter King (R-NY) and is based on a bill introduced by Rep. Steve Pearce (R-NM) to protect "John Does," or passengers targeted in the suit filed by six Muslim imams earlier this month in Minneapolis. This is designed to protect Americans from intimidation and frivolous lawsuits by giving them legal immunity as a result of reporting suspicious terrorism-related activity.

The provision was approved by a vote of 199 to 121. It's worth noting that EVERY vote in opposition was Democratic. There can hardly be a more striking and clear example of where the Democrats stand on an issue that involves common sense and public safety -- they stand with their special interest lobbies who opposed the measure, the trial lawyers and the Islamists of CAIR.

There should be a provision that gives up to a 20 year sentence to those who intentionally act weird/threatening (that is if they survive being beaten to death by the other passengers).

I'm tired of the left. So tired of the meaningless drivel. It is like trying to reason with idiots bent on killing themselves.

This law smells heavily of unintended consequences. Plus we the people should be on offense and this bill is defense. I wish it weren't necessary.

I wish for every imam who sued every John Doe that fifty doing-their-part citizens would come forward and testify on behalf of John Doe, and support him in his counter suit. I wish that the airlines and the crews would make big defiant stands.

These muzzies need to be put in modern day stocks while they are here. We need for them not to want to be here.

"It is like trying to reason with idiots bent on killing themselves."

If it were just themselves I would supply the ammunition. But their brain damaged world outlook might get me killed as well. And that frankly is unacceptable.
