You want to see something else scary..I have been on the net for the past three days researching homemade dog food. Some of the articles I have read about what companies put in dog food will curl your toes...."meat by-products"...yuck. I went to the store this afternoon and got ingredients to make my Lhasa some food out of chicken, carrots, oatmeal, and brown rice. Spent more time cooking her dinner than I did for my husband and me!

We've made our cats' food for a few years, and have a recipe down pat. If anyone wants it, freepmail me. Plus I have a link to a place that sells supplements to add to home made cat/dog food (cats need it more than dogs). We got some and add it to our cats' food and they really love it.
We just make a big pot full about every four days, for four cats.

A friend of mine used to make his own dog food out of scrap beef and cornmeal. He swore by it; said his dogs were always healthy and had good coats. And it was cheap.
