You may want to consider letting them make fun of you with regards to Mexico. A lot of their pottery and ceramic glazes for tea pots, coffee mugs, etc. have lead in them...

True! I’ve even seen mugs from Mexico which state that they’re for decorative purposes only. MUGS!!!
