Brazil 2007 Crime & Safety Report: Brasilia & Recife
The Regional Security Office at U.S. Consulate Rio de Janeiro reported the following on April 17:
At approximately 3:15 p.m., two male assailants attempted to rob a pedestrian leaving a bank located across the street from the U.S. Consulate. Initial reports indicate that the victim resisted the robbery and was shot in the chest. The two suspects attempted to flee on a motorcycle. An off-duty police officer who witnessed the robbery and was sitting in traffic nearby returned fire, killing one of the robbers. The second suspect surrendered and was subdued by the off-duty police officer. He was subsequently taken into custody.
No one from the U.S. Consulate was injured in the incident. However, the event occurred within 20 yards from the Consular Section entrance to the Consulate. This is the second such incident this month.

In Islam, aren’t you supposed to warn those who you are going to murder? or something like that? Weren’t the bomb threats at Virginia Tech considered warnings? And wasn’t the video that the murder left a type of death video similar to the ME suicide bombers?

Some have speculated that the bomb threats were done so he could gauge the response of campus security and local police. Given that it appears that he had planned the event, this makes sense.

Yes to all. But you can’t dare say that on any of the on-going threads. 90% of the posters will write you off as a conspiracy theorist. I’m not posting there any more. I’ll just wait for the connection to unfold. What’s really bothering me is the old Virginnia paintball story with the ring leader named Ismail.

Then from a “conspiracy theorist” perspective, could this be what an “American Terrorist Suicide Bomber” looks like? Could we use this whole situation as a profile for thing to come on US soil?
He was definitely deranged. He was a loner and a misfit — perfect for brainwashing. I would really like to know what web sites he frequented and exactly what was in that note. Leaving behind a tape is definitely a suicide bomber’s MO. If there was a reference to allah or the Koran in any of the material, it will eventually come out.
The scary part about brainwashing, is that he did it to himself. I guess he watch a violent Korean movie over and over. If it is that easy to prepare yourself, who else? And think of the violent video games that children play.
