My friend and I did the same thing once, neglected to tie the anchor to the boat, and at about the same age as Taggert.

I thought we’d be hollered at, but my friend’s Dad took a deep breath and essentially chalked it up to an honest mistake.

My friend would later go on to win an Olympic gold medal.
