You know very well that Rudy only acknowledged that global warming was occurring and that scientific consensus was that man played a role in it. Both of these statements are TRUE. He then went on to say that since pollution should be reduced we needed to take steps to do so even if man was NOT playing a role in GW.

Then he threw the skunk into the Greenies garden party by calling for more development of nuclear energy sources which is the LAST thing they wanted to hear.

It is typical that this has to be pointed out over and over again when the Rudyphobes try and make it appear as if he had bought into the “manmade” argument.

Here's the sequence. I said:

Giuliani publicly announced his belief in global warming.

You respnded to me with

“Giuliani publicly announced his belief in global warming...” FALSE that is a total distortion of what he said about it and you KNOW it.

Where was the distortion? What was false? Nothing of course, which your subsequent post proves. He not only acknowledged the existence of global warming, he said the overwhelming consensus was that man played a significant role.

He then went on to say that although he wasn't familiar with the details he was sure Schwarzenegger's green house gas proposal was just dandy because Arnie was a "progressive leader".

Next time you want to accuse someone of distortion you might want to know the facts first.

Who is not aware that the Earth has been warming gradually since the end of the Little Ice Age? What next “Rudy admits Sky is Blue”?

By stating he is aware there is global warming you are implying that he is claiming that this warming is manmade. Rudy deftly avoids this be stating that it does not matter since we need to be reducing pollution ANYWAY.

You want to imply that he has jumped on the Man Causes Global Warming bandwagon when he hasn’t. If you are NOT trying to imply that I will apologize.

I'm not trying to imply anything, but I guess you and I have a different interpretation of:

But "the overwhelming number of scientists now believe that there is significant human cause,'' he said, adding the debate on the existence of global warming "is almost unnecessary ... because we should be dealing with pollution anyway.''

I read that as accepting that humans are a significant cause of global warming, I don't know why he would have said it otherwise. If you want to read it as simply a statement since he didn't specifically state "I believe" or "I agree with" that's up to you.

There is no need to apologize, political jousting on the internet ain't life or death.
