Why is Iran announcing the release of the British soldiers ?
Why now ?
Last Sunday, Iran told the AEIA that it would not let the UN inspector see some parts of the iranian nuke programs. Yesterday, the AEIA claimed that Iran had multiplied its current capability by 3 since the hostage crisis began.
Iran tried to take US hostages on January 20, 2007 in Kerbala, Iraq. The mission failed, and the Revolution Guards slaughtered 5 GI'S.
Iran hoped to make pressure on America, and is still hoping that America won't bomb the country when Iran will expell the UN inspectors from the country.
The visit of the House speaker Pelosi to Syria, close ally to Iran, gave the mullahs the impression their strategy had worked.
That's why they will release the Britons hostages today.
The Axis of Evil thinks America is weak and not prepared to fight even if one her ally is in difficulty.
Because of Pelosi, Iran is more optimistic and is about to lauch a big - BIG - war this Summer, against Israel using Hezbollah and Syria and against the USA in Iraq by sending new iranian troops in Iraq.
Brothers, for Iranians, Pelosi's visit means America surrenders.
I’m off today so I’m going to go watch Rosie gloat over the Iranian humiliation of the UK and the West. (Again, I’ll take it back if there is a swift and severe air attack on the Iranian nuke sites and Revolutionary Guards)
You have to laugh at this stuff.
According to General Yadlin, quoted by the Jerusalem Post :

The Iranian people are not the same as their leaders. There are some who are tired of being held in the Middle Ages by the mullahs who rule the place, and the secular leaders who do their bidding. It helps no one, to bomb indiscriminately.
>>Well, I dont want to overdo the importance of this, but yesterday I did do a 3 mile run on the treadmill. Perhaps this also swayed the nutjobs.
ROTFLOL!
If Iran gives up the hostages without Britain giving up anything - how is that a "defeat" for Britain?
To me (and to the Arab world) it will appear that Iran has capitulated to Britain & the US - not the other way around.
If Iran keeps or executes the hostages - THEN it will appear they have "stood up" to the West.
I don't understand your logic.
I thought it was my 5 mile walk listening to Songs and Marches of the French Foreign Legion on my Ipod. Must have been synergy.
“If Iran gives up the hostages without Britain giving up anything - how is that a “defeat” for Britain?”
Getting the hostages back is a victory. However, Iran violated international laws by going into Iraqi terriotorial waters and kidnapping people that were carrying out UN and Iraqi mandates. They also paraded and forced “confessions” under duress, which is agaist the Geneva Convention. The Brits were correct to get their 15 back within reasonable concessions, but only if they retaliate (likely with US help)strongly against the illegal provocation.
I completly agree.
Iran shows that you can threat a neighbor to “anihilate him” (Israel), kidnap soldiers of a western army, kill them (US soldiers in Kerbala) and violate UN resolutions without being attacked.
Look at Syria : they killed Hariri, gave weapons to Hezbollah, killed Gemayel, but this b***ch Pelosi is still “negotiating” with Assad.
If Al-Quaeda were a State, we would negotiate with it.
Tommy,
That is not going to happen. She will be cheered and the “savior” for this situation. She will end up looking pretty good. America is going crazy lately.
Bob
Hey, she said there was “a new sheriff in town”.
Pelosi getting credit for the hostages’ freedom is just a pipedream for Pelosi and her DNC minions.
“Maybe some rumor about Good Friday?”
That’s more likely the case.
Iranians know how to undermine America.
They watch TV. They know a speaker going to Syria while the White House is disapproving is an evidence of division in the US.
Iran’s strategy : always use the division of your enemy.
She won’t get credited by Americans.
I wrote Pelosi visit is the proof of American weakness, and that’s what Iranians sought for by taking UK hostages.
Stop seeing Syria as Syria, and UK as UK.
In the language of the WoT, Syria is the little brother of Iran and UK the little brother of America.
See the difference : Iran is humiliating US little brother, while America is cheering Iran’s.
We call that humiliations for America. Twice.
I think while Peloski is in Syria would be a good time to attack and show everyone where the WMDs went.
If nothing more I think Iran wants it to APPEAR as though Pelosi’s visit had a positive effect on the release. Wonder if she will attempt to take some type of credit when she returns?
