Film director Bob Clark and his son Ariel were killed in an early morning collision along a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades, authorities said.
Clark directed the classic holiday film "A Christmas Story" in 1983 and was the producer of the "Porky's" films, along with about two dozen other features.

Just heard that on the radio......
Very sad.
Want to bet the guy who hit them was an illegal? Very sad.
You might be right:
The crash was reported about 2:20 a.m..... LAPD investigators said Clark was driving a 1997 Infiniti Q-30 sedan southbound on PCH when the driver of a GMC Yukon, Hector Velazquez-Nava, 24, of Los Angeles swerved and hit the Clark vehicle head-on.
His son was only 22. What a shame. Hit by some drunk, who survived with “minor injuries”.
I am sure you are right. Another illegal kills an innocent American citizen. It is enough to make your blood boil.
Hector Velazquez-Nava, 24, of Los Angeles swerved and hit the Clark vehicle head-on.
Nava was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.
Porky’s remains, IMO, on of the funniest movies ever made.
“Fra-gee-lay...must be Italian.”
RIP and God bless, Mr. Clark. You’ve brought years of entertainment and enjoyment to the Christmas Holiday.
Illegals deserve a choice: Deportation or Internment, in the Nevada desert.
BUSH BE DAMNED, IT IS GOING TO STOP!!!!!
“Operating without a driver’s license” at age 24 does make one suspect illegal. Usually the blurb will say “suspended license” if the driver was once licensed. My guess is as soon as he is released, he is gone south of the border. But if he isn’t released, one can be fairly sure he is judgment-proof. And undoubtedly someone will argue that this situation is exactly why the state should grant illegals driver licenses.
Correct. But it does make it suspicious enough to speculate which is all we were doing.
And undoubtedly someone will argue that this situation is exactly why the state should grant illegals driver licenses.
I'd argue that for much the same reason people shouldn't enter the country illegally they shouldn't drive without a license.
I realize in today's society to ask people to follow the law is a bit much to ask.
And at the end of the day legal or not the guy was driving drunk, so he wouldn't see sunlight for 50 years if I had my way.
I second your motion on that fifty years. And the Pacific Coast Highway is dangerous even for stone-cold sober drivers.
Dang. Prayers for his family. I loved A Christmas Story. Reminded me of childhood. I grew up in Clearwater, Minnesota, and I remember coming home from school one bitter, cold winter with a sack full of all my school projects. My hands were full, and I rang the metal doorbell with my tongue. And of course, it got stuck. I panicked and yanked my head back, leaving a pink chunk of tongue. I think I was about 6. I always remember that when I watch that movie.......
Yep--that's why, like you, I'm happy with Pelosi running the House and Reid running the Senate.
Really? I pass through Clearwater on my way to and from Bemidji.
Just this weekend, as a matter of fact.
I always pop in to MacDonald’s Meats for some jerky and stix for the ride north.
two of my all time favorites also. the first time I saw “porkys” I laughed as hard as I ever have at a movie and “a Christmas story” always warms my gun lovin’ heart, along with a nice portrayal of America when it was so different
