Film director Bob Clark and his son Ariel were killed in an early morning collision along a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades, authorities said.

Clark directed the classic holiday film "A Christmas Story" in 1983 and was the producer of the "Porky's" films, along with about two dozen other features.

You might be right:

The crash was reported about 2:20 a.m..... LAPD investigators said Clark was driving a 1997 Infiniti Q-30 sedan southbound on PCH when the driver of a GMC Yukon, Hector Velazquez-Nava, 24, of Los Angeles swerved and hit the Clark vehicle head-on.

His son was only 22. What a shame. Hit by some drunk, who survived with “minor injuries”.

Nava was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.

Illegals deserve a choice: Deportation or Internment, in the Nevada desert.

“Operating without a driver’s license” at age 24 does make one suspect illegal. Usually the blurb will say “suspended license” if the driver was once licensed. My guess is as soon as he is released, he is gone south of the border. But if he isn’t released, one can be fairly sure he is judgment-proof. And undoubtedly someone will argue that this situation is exactly why the state should grant illegals driver licenses.

Correct. But it does make it suspicious enough to speculate which is all we were doing.

And undoubtedly someone will argue that this situation is exactly why the state should grant illegals driver licenses.

I'd argue that for much the same reason people shouldn't enter the country illegally they shouldn't drive without a license.

I realize in today's society to ask people to follow the law is a bit much to ask.

And at the end of the day legal or not the guy was driving drunk, so he wouldn't see sunlight for 50 years if I had my way.

Dang. Prayers for his family. I loved “A Christmas Story”. Reminded me of childhood. I grew up in Clearwater, Minnesota, and I remember coming home from school one bitter, cold winter with a sack full of all my school projects. My hands were full, and I rang the metal doorbell with my tongue. And of course, it got stuck. I panicked and yanked my head back, leaving a pink chunk of tongue. I think I was about 6. I always remember that when I watch that movie.......

I was 10 when we left Clearwater and moved to Nevada. That was 1980. I can only imagine how that small town has changed. I need to go back and check it out. Not sure if you were around back then, but I remember my brother and I were swimming in the Mississippi river and actually saw a small plane crash into a power line. It went down in a hail of sparks. We ran and got our dad, and the whole town went down to the bank to find the pilot. Unfortunately, about an hour into the search, someone yelled that he stepped on something. It was the pilot.

One of my fondest memories was going to St. John's University. They owned a huge forest and we would hike for about 2 miles in and eat lunch and chase frogs. At the time, it was just another hike for us. But looking back, I am truly in awe of the beauty of Minnesota. Man I miss that place.

Should The Politicians In “Sanctuary Cities” For Illegals Be Prosecuted For Illegal’s Crimes?
Apr 5 2007 12:00AM
http://sayanythingblog.com/index.php

Bob Clark, director of one of my favorite movies of all time, “A Christmas Story”, and his 22 year-old son Ariel were killed near Los Angeles in a vehicle crash. The driver of the SUV that hit them was Hector Valezquez-Nava, a 24 year old “unlicensed” driver. He was drunk. And he’s been charged with a variety of things, including gross vehicular manslaughter.

Although the LA Times won’t say it I strongly suspect that the “unlicensed” Mr. Valezquez-Nava is probably an illegal. Which is only a part of the point of this post.

Recently in one of the “sanctuary cities” on the East Coast a verified illegal with a lengthy arrest record crossed the median while driving drunk and killed two beautiful teenage girls in a head-on crash. My question is this:

If that city’s (or any other city’s) politically correct elected cockroach politicians made it a haven for illegals and they flock there and drive drunk or commit other crimes against honest citizens why can’t those politicians be prosecuted as accomplices ? Or at least sued as the enablers?

Under the law, part of being an accomplice or a co-conspirator is to have the ability, the means, and the motivation to assist in a crime. If those politicians aren’t clearly enabling crimes to be committed because of a politically correct stance that is clearly outside of existing laws then you can slap my face and call me Sally. They are the direct enablers of rapes, robberies, shootings, gand related violence, and car crashes like the ones above that are taking a toll on the lives, and the quality of life, of bona fide U.S. citizens.

I personally believe that those politicians should be held accountable for their high-minded idealism and their disregard for the enforcement of existing law. When a city tells its police officers that they cannot question the status of an arrested subject or even approach a subject because his status may be questionable I think that whoever put that policy in place should be held at least partially responsible if an illegal commits a crime. ESPECIALLY if it can be shown that the illegal had been in custody before and, because of a “sanctuary” policy, was released without his immigration status being checked.

Another point of law reflects that if a person does something that he or she reasonably should have known was wrong, even if they didn’t know that they were breaking a law at the time, they can be held criminally liable. For instance, if you buy that 52 inch plasma high definition TV from Guido on the corner for fifty bucks you should reasonably know that there’s something wrong with that picture, even if you have no direct knowledge of a crime. You can be charged as a result.

Why can’t they? If you let someone stay in your house that is committing crimes and you know it and you don’t have them removed then you, by virtue of deliberate indifference, become involved. These elected cockroaches are deliberately indifferent to the pain and suffering their political correctness is causing.

I think that they are damn near as guilty as the illegal who actually committed the crime and they should pay accordingly.

What say you?

I couldn’t have said this any better. Please support Tom Tancredo for President (and read his book, “In Mortal Danger”). Anyone who thinks that Illegal Immigration is simply one issue, think again. Murder, assault, robbery, theft, gangs, tax fraud, medicare fraud, welfare fraud, identity theft, DWI, overcrowded ER rooms, etc. are all problems associated with and exacerbated by illegal aliens. Someone already said it, but “Comprehensive Deportation Reform” is needed now. In other words, just do it!

Just remember, Tancredo has never been able to get any cosponsors for legislation and has not introduced anything that ever got into law.

Duncan Hunter has proven results and been doing it longer than anyone.

Take a look at his 20 year record of accomplishments on securing the border, controlling immigration. You’ll be glad you did.

Thank you for the info about Duncan Hunter. Tancredo has already been painted as racist and radical (funny how enforcing current immigration law is viewed as a “radical” idea) by illegal alien activists. I really don’t believe he has much of a chance. I’m just biased because he visited the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector where I work.

I had seen on another thread where someone accused Clark of drinking too because of the hour of the accident so hopefully the info gets out.
