“at the DU, they say these accusations from the Post are baseless”

Pelosi’s trip is exactly the kind of dog-and-pony show that the DUers want. It’s not designed to accomplish anything, it’s political theater. And Pelosi is playing to the DUers.

Nancy certainly entertains visions of grandeur.

More like DELUSIONS of grandeur.

*****But Ms. Pelosi’s attempt to establish a shadow presidency is not only counterproductive, it is foolish****

Were her actions merely counterproductive and foolish I could agree with the Post - her actions were/are dangerous.

Anytime a country’s message to its foes abroad are not clear - or muddied by a shadow government - that country is in danger.

"If the American people keep listening to the Pelosi’s of the DemoRAT party, they will lead this country down the path to destruction."

Yes, just look at Europe where the left has a virtual monopoly on political power and the news media. Because of many years of self-consciously pro-Arab and anti-Western policies, the European left has put European culture on the brink of extermination by masses of unassimilated Muslim immigrants.

“Male suffrage should be reserved to property owners.”

That’s right. I know a lot of people, including local illegal immigrants, who vote Democrat because they have everthing to gain and this will of course cost them nothing.

All the sacred poor want is the property owners power and money. Nancy Pekosi is their wet dream which they mistakenly call the American Dream.

If you want an eyefull go read the comments posted under the article. Some are sane, but many are blazing examples of moonbattery.

Well, it's designed to embarrass Bush, but the gun blew up in Pelosi's face. But your use of the term "political theatre" is spot-on; Pelosi even wore a costume.

It’s called hubris-the arrogance of overweening pride. Let’s hope that her hubris in taking this asinine trip to visit Syria, one of the worst supporters of terrorism, represents the pride before her fall. RATs are such predictable morons.

Nancy is old enough to remember when the Persians sailed to America claiming they had captured sailors.

(She probably stowed away to speak to them, and tell them how things will be done.)

Doi!? Mayhaps she was listening to the Baker panel too literally when they suggested we speak with our enemies, i.e. Ford, Nixon, BushI, Clinton....But hey, I know it’s probably easier just to drop a nuke on em. I dont know why we havent done that already with the military strapped for reinforcements and armor and fresh troops. It would make it a helluva lot easier. Course you have to play the greens (winds) right, heh? EeeHah.

The Washington Post editorial is the Washington equivalent of a bad theater review in the New York Times. Perhaps the Democrats will reconsider this kind of “diplomacy”.

I guess this is Pelousi’s audition for the presidency...she is 3rd up accord. to the US Constitution.

Is she signaling her desires to her whacked out supporters about how she’d run things if she weren’t “encumbered” by the obstacles in 1st and 2d place?

This poster's comment from the WP responses to the editorial took the prize for accuracy, even with the redundancy:

If it werent for reflexes, Pelosi would be too stupid to breathe. Dangerous, liberal moron.

“Pelosi’s humiliated the left and the left’s not happy.”

Watching the Dems’ efforts to disassociate themselves from the moonbats should be fun.

How could she be expected to recognize duplicity and corruption, she knows that is a sure sign of a Democrat, so how could it be bad?

“How do we impeach a SOH??????”

Ans: we vote in Republicans who are less gentlemen and more ballsy. Peter King comes to mind. Inhoff also. Both have what it takes?

Speaking of such things, if that little rat, Conyers, can get Patrick Fitzgerald to go after Whomever in the Plame “investigation”, why can’t some Republican Senator get a new Special Prosecutor to loudly “investigate” Sen. Diane Feinstein and the $millions she has grafted over to her hubbie’s pet defense contractors??? Huh? Huh?
