And what is sad is he is one of the declared front runners. We are scraping the barrel.

This is going to be a long campaign. By next February the Clinton/Obama ticket will be singing Kumbaya, and the Republican Eight will still be preening and competing to see who can appear most conservative while still attracting the moderate voters.

“Republican Eight will still be preening and competing to see who can appear most conservative while still attracting the moderate voters.”

That’s the problem with some of them. However, there is a couple that state their position regardless of the conservative flap, Giuliani and McCain. Which leads me to believe that if they don’t get their party’s nomination, they would run as an independent in the general. This is McCain’s and Guilianis last go around anyway. Why throw in the towel if they feel sooooooo close to winning? Heck Bill Clinton became president with only 46% of the popular vote because of “Ears” Perot.

Why we need to vett them now. Conservative conversions at this late date are not to be trusted, they are just so much window dressing.

Either you are or you aren't and your track record will tell the tale.

Mitt ain't it.
