Romney's real problem is that he signed a permanent assault weapons ban just a couple short years ago in MA.
I was unaware of that and better understand your concern. I'm sure there are assault weapons in MA, just not legal ones and I do not believe the answer to gun violence is to disarm law abiding citizens.
