Vicar's warning on the rise of Islam

Mr Kidd said he is concerned that the UK has abandoned Christianity and the gap that has been left is being filled by Islam. He writes: “We are sleep-walking into problems through our own carelessness.

“There can be no justification for blind tolerance of a faith which sees itself as divinely inspired, righteous and true, namely Islam, when too often its expression of that belief conflicts directly with the hopes and aspirations of the majority of the population.

“But equally we can not be surprised by the progress that Islam is making.

“Our lack of national standards, beliefs and convictions give rise to a host of social problems, unsafe streets and increasing inequality.

“As a result the clear-sighted objectives of militant Islam are thriving and no appeal to moderation is likely to succeed while our own decadence is so obvious.” He adds: “Is it not time for us, as Christians, to put our own house in order by making clear what we believe and why?”

Mr Kidd says the UK is vulnerable because its people devoted to materialism, entertainment and celebrity and lack any clear moral code.

He argues that the liberal approach has led to UK becoming the ‘abortion, drug and promiscuity capital of Europe’ and adds that an ASBO is seen as a greater achievement among young people than an A level.

“Meanwhile in the vacuum of clear moral leadership from which we suffer and faced with a pro-Arab BBC and foreign office, Islam fills the gap left by Christianity and often features in the news for a variety of reasons,” he said.

Well, it's time to be a good Christian and turn the other cheek.

Fortunately in America, we have Fundamentalists.

Though I am happy to see that this vicar is trying to spread the light about the darkness...

He’s speaking to a church that is already empty.

The mosques are filled.

The piece is not very tightly written. What is the thesis? That if the nation had more faith, it would crack down on Muslims, that the Muslims will become less militant overall? That smells of internicine religious intolerance, and I don’t think will change hearts or minds. Having said that, the Muslim immigration into the UK has proven rather unfortunate.

Unlike the Koran, the New Testament does not tell you to slay the infidels where ever you find them.

“What is the thesis? “

i guess what he’s saying is that islam is filling the spiritual void caused by secularization, materialism etc

The faithless in UK are converting to Islam? I don’t think so. Among other things, there are certain cultural barriers.

The only Muslim problem Britain suffers from is the fact that they are there, and that isn’t caused by “materialism, entertainment and celebrity and lack any clear moral code”, it’s caused by a conscious effort by the British elite to eliminate the British people and nation. Nor is the weakness of Christianity the cause, it is a racial program and an anti-nation program. East Germany didn’t have much Christianity but they were under no danger of being overrun by Muslims.

Think again. With open borders in the European Union Britain is ripe for immigration of muslims and it is happening. Face the facts, they are staring you right in the face.

The UK has actually cut if off by and large, but the theologian’s tract said nothing about immigration. As I said, the thing was rather discursive, and punchless.

As a sidebar, perhaps as a Muslin antidote, I don’t know, the UK, unlike the rest of Western Europe, has welcomed Eastern Europeans, who are not let in by and large elsewhere in the money zone of Europe. About 700,000 have arrived in the past few years, and I ran into them everywhere in London when I was there this summer. They act as service personnel here, there and everywhere, and a lot of them are well - - quite attractive. JMO.

“He’s right. But he’s also too late.”

There is little argument to your point.

Sheer demographics will accelerate the demise of Europe as a bastion of Western Democracy.

Professor Bernard Lewis recently presented a superb paper to an AIE symposium (with VP Chaney in attendance), in which he set forth the demise of Christian Europe is very lucid terms...and well ahead of the previously accepted timetable.

What is so disheartening to this person is the level of denial relative to what is happening even within the United States - essentially the very last bastion of defense of Western Civilization.

Our Republic is in mortal danger — and Nero is indeed fiddling away as our culture goes up in flames.

I fear it is to late to turn this trend around. So, late in my 7th decade, I say to he** with this gaggle in Washington who are party to our demise. I play poker with my cronies and enjoy each precious day -- yet with my gut torn asunder at my helplessness, as I witness the waning years of our National Greatness. The clock is running...and it is 11:45 PM on the Doomsday Clock! I kid you not. *S*

Happy Easter, Fellow Freepers.

Well who wanted to migrate to East Germany? The people born there were dying (literally) trying to get out.
