CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico — A Texas man arrested on suspicion of having sex with underage girls in the border city of Ciudad Juarez was charged Thursday with selling drugs, procuring or trafficking minors and child pornography.

The suspect, believed to be from Dallas, was arrested Tuesday after police received an anonymous tip, said Marco Antonio Torres Moreno, public safety director for Ciudad Juarez, across the border from El Paso. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of cocaine possession, and 12 years if convicted on the other charges.

A Mexican woman who allegedly recruited girls for the man and a Mexican man who allegedly supplied him with drugs were also charged as accomplices in the case.

My BS meter goes up every time an article doesn’t mention the suspects name.

Sounds like the U.S. is not the only place with odd priorities when it comes to crime and punishment.

He’ll wish he were in Gitmo. Mexican prisons are not nice places to “exist”.

Not much togo on in this article. I think the age of consent in Juarez is like 14. How old were these girls?

Additional info

In a press statement, the city government said the U.S. consulate had been advised of the detention, and that U.S. law enforcement sources said the man - who has not yet been formally charged - had spent time in prison in New Mexico for auto theft.

U.S. consulate employees were not immediately available to comment on the report.

The man was found in possession of various identification cards - apparently false - identifying him as a bounty hunter and a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

Police also said they found about 100 photos of the man hugging young girls, as well as hypodermic needles.

His landlord, Jose de la Campa, said the man had frequently brought underage girls to the room during the seven months he had rented it, and sometimes stayed inside with them for as long as three days at a stretch.

It took the landlord seven months to figure out what was going on?

I caught that too. Raping multiple little girls only hurts them, so it's not of much concern. But selling blow is an affront to the power of the state and therefore must be punished harshly.
