Michael Zak will join Loud & Clear (Central Jersey 1450 AM WCTC) to discuss his book, Back to Basics for the Republican Party, and his blog, Grand Old Partisan, this afternoon (March 10, 2007).
Mr. Zak emphasizes the fact that the Grand Old Party was established by anti-slavery activists to oppose the pro-slavery policies of the Democrats. To this day, the Republican Party has an extraordinary, though overlooked, record of achievement in advancing civil rights in the United States and around the world.
Mr. Zak will be the guest of Keith Rasmussen and Maggie Glynn who host Loud & Clear on Central Jersey 1450 - 3 pm to 6 pm Eastern. He will join Loud & Clear at 3:15 pm (Eastern).
Mr. Zak is the proprietor of http://grandoldpartisan.typepad.com/ , the blog that celebrates the heritage of the Republican Party. He is also a frequent contributor to The American Thinker. His FReeper handle: since 1854.

Looking forward to hearing you this afternoon.
Bump for a message that people who love the GOP need to hear.
The Republican party that raised an invasion army to set off the bloodiest conflict ever on our land?
That Republican Party?
No.
Why yes, it would be that Republican party. The political descendants of worthless men like Alexander Hamilton and Henry Clay. The supporters of 'internal improvements' that had been outlawed by most states because of the insolvency it caused. The ones that invented 'greenbacks' and introduced the citizens of the sovereign states to a whole new form of slavery and forced subservience to the central State. The supporters of federal subsidies for favorite industries. It is that Republican party. I know I'll be tuning in....oh wait, I have to watch paint dry this afternoon. Hmmmm......
“Those who do remember the past are condemned to quote George Santayana.”
Yes and unfortunately too many will not remember the past and vote Republican under the mistaken belief they believe in smaller government moreso than their Democratic counterparts (of course minus the few left of us that remember limited government). When in fact it neither party does anymore. We just have the Republicans to thank for bringing us big government in the first place
The Democrats/Confederates didn't mind enlarged government power when and where it benefited them. There was no principle involved other than the principle of grabbing all the power they could for themselves to promote slavery. Look at the secession declarations of the rebelling states and I don't think you'll find a single noble sentiment in them.
The Republican party that raised an invasion army to set off the bloodiest conflict ever on our land?
A lot of southerners , black and white, saw that invading army as liberators from the tyranny of the plantation class.
"worthless" is an ironic adjective from one who seems to value the principles held by those who apparently couldn't even survive without holding their fellow men in bondage.
The Republicans were champions of the right of all men to provide for themselves which was obviously repellent to the Confederates' selfish agenda.
you're a HOOT!!!
