Motorists and bike riders alike have been up in arms since our yarn Wednesday about bicyclists shattering the back window of a car that had unwittingly found itself in the middle of a pedaling Critical Mass pack. Motorists were outraged over the conduct of the cyclists; the riders insist they got a bum rap for a driver they thought should have been arrested for hit-and-run.
Whatever the case, this type of scrape isn't exactly unheard of.
It turns out that a couple of hours before the Japantown incident, about 7 p.m. March 30, a limousine driver had a run-in with a Critical Mass cyclist down in the Tenderloin.
The result: one dented limo hood, one limo tire slashed and one Critical Mass rider getting booked for felony malicious mischief.
Limo driver Dennis Webb, 46, told us it all started when he was driving a group of four young women to a club South of Market and a female bicyclist blocked his limo on Hyde Street, near McAllister. Webb said he leaned out the window and asked the cyclist to move. Instead, according to the police report, the cyclist got off her bike, unwrapped a lollypop and started licking it.
Webb said he got out of his car to talk to her when another male rider also pulled in front of his limo.
After briefly exchanging words with the man, Webb said he grabbed the male cyclist's bike and tried to pull it out of the way....

Anarchy is a VERY San Francisco value!
He wasn’t the only accosted by these creeps in the streets.. nothing more than thugs on wheels..
Further in the article it stated that it was a group of 3,000 bikers. I would assume the roads were blocked for bikes only, if not that could be a huge problem.
Was talking to an SFPD friend of mine last night about Critical Mass. He told me that the SFPD (never in public, of course), call them “the a**holes”. They are made up of the most obnoxious people in SF. They ignore the rules of the road (all while claiming that they have the same rights as motorists), They run red lights, ride on the sidewalks, mow down pedestrians at crossings, hold up traffic and generally act like spoiled children.
The leaders are a hard core group of bike messengers who, even when they aren’t in Critical Mass, habitually flip off the police as they are weaving through downtown traffic knowing that the cops in the cars can’t chase them.
They’re just thugs.
Actually you and your fellow riders who did nothing but watch it rather enjoyed it, didn't you?
It seems to me there is nothing you can do about it cause I am thinking fire hose.....but then the lawyers would surely follow
SFPD generally waits until the end of the ride and then nabs them when the split up into smaller groups
Just another example of how liberals, especially progressives hold minorities down with a boot on their throats.
Buy a bag full of marbles.
Hit them with a hammer.
Scatter pieces all over the street in front of stupid, idiot, mornon bicyclists.
Their thin, thin tires will cause a critical mass to become an immobile mass.
Yuk!
Eileen Shields, a San Francisco Health Department spokeswoman who was participating in the ride along with other members of the department, told us she passed by just as things were getting ugly.
Shields said the driver was trying to elude about eight cyclists who had surrounded him and who were chanting, “He tried to run him over, he tried to run him over ...’’
Next there was a loud pop — as someone slashed the limo’s tire.
Someone using their city position to get away with this crap? If it were my car, I would have told Gavin Newsome that his city employee just committed an “act of war”, and I would no longer recognize ANY legal authority in his city and refuse to do business with any establishment in his city.
As it stands now I don’t even recognize Sad Freaksicko to be part of the United States, and will not do business with any San Francisco based corporation (hey Bechtel, you need to move).
BTW, I am a cyclist, used to race (let’s see how I bounce back from this winter’s pneumonia), and I think these buttwipes should be met by police in riot gear. Beat on the brat with a baseball bat oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
I wonder what the results would be if a couple of these punks ended up taking a dirt nap thanks to an armed driver that they harassed...
Jacks would work about as well, or caltrops if you want to be really nasty. The Romans used them and they’re still made.
Two pcs of metal bent into an “L” shape, welded together at the insides of the L’s and sharpened on all four tips. Toss out by the handfuls in the paths of undersirables.
Or you could keep a bag of old end connectors and wedge bolts along with other assorted metal trash from armored vehicle tracks handy like we did in Germany for pitching at demonstrators and like undesirables.
“Wow! Lookit the hole in that windshield, tsk, tsk, musta come off the tracks of one of the vehicles in the convoy. See, that’s why you shouldn’t cut convoys or follow too close to armored vehicles...”

The roads are NOT blocked, as far as I know. THAT is the major part of the problem. These “cyclists” are looking for a fight, and are deliberately trying to shut down the city traffic with their overwhelming numbers. They are trying to force more people to ride cycles to work instead of driving or using mass transit. They are a bunch of second-rate hippies/envirofreaks who think that we all should be riding bicycles. I think they all should be deported to China for 2 years. Let them see up close what that is like. I don’t know if they ride a cycle the rest of the week, but they are getting more than a little intimidating with Critical Mass.
Since it is San Francisco, the city government will do nothing, which will give them more spunk to get more and more thuggish in their behavior, IMO.
Generally, it involves a wood-chipper. . . . (evil grin)
Sometimes. . . if they're still hugging the tree, you just need to get an end of the tree in, the chipper does the rest. . . . . .
