Elizabeth Edwards: scared of "rabid, rabid Republican" neighbor

MIKE BAKER Associated Press

RALEIGH, N.C. - Elizabeth Edwards says she is scared of the "rabid, rabid Republican" who owns property across the street from her Orange County home - and she doesn't want her kids going near the gun-toting neighbor.

Edwards, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, particularly recalls the time neighbor Monty Johnson brought out a gun while chasing workers investigating a right of way off his property. The Edwards family has yet to meet Johnson in person.

"I wouldn't be nice to him anyway," Edwards said in an interview. "I don't want my kids anywhere near some guy who when he doesn't like somebody, the first thing he does is pull a gun out. It scares the business out of me."

She’s been reading too many of her socialist husbands’ speeches. Edwards is the Class-Warfare warrior. Somewhere Karl Marx is smiling.

If I had RATS across the street, I’d pack heat too!

What’s the difference between a rabid Republican and a rabid Democrat?

The rabid Republican will CUT your taxes!

Wait until you meet Ahmadinejad, my dear.

Well, I patrol my acreage on my 4-wheeler, with a Mini-14 prominently displayed on the rack at the rear.

My 1911 is in my holster on my side.

My 12 gauge hog gun (sawed-off (legally) with 3-inch mag slugs) is slung on the gas tank. In the cross-tank bags is a Ruger .44, just in case the hog is particularly mean.

And if I wing him down and need to finish him off, I can do it with the Colt Woodsman .22 in the other bag and save the price of a slug or a .44 or .45 round.

I won't even try to cover the knives I have on me, but since Miss Priss didn't have a hissing fit about them, I suppose they'd be acceptable.

I check the boundaries of my acreage at least once daily, usually twice, occasionally more and usually see several of my neighbors, who are doing the same thing.

I bet Miss Elizabeth would probably pee herself if she met me on the perimeter or saw me at the mail box and I don't particularly care, since her (or anyone's) approval or disapproval of me is of absolutely no consequence to me.

But, I don't got no Rooty-tooty picture posters on my fence, 'cause I'm a conservative and I ain't found none of Fred Thompson to display, yet.

So-called "genteel" southern ladies are a pain in the ass and she fits the billing.

I'm betting my wife would only have to look at her hard and she'd pull up her skirts and run like a spooked quail.

All that money and a big-time lawyer/presidential aspirant/fancy boy for a husband and she still ain't got squat.

Pitiful.

I changed my tagline to reflect the live birth of the tiny baby some months back at 22 weeks. It is a girl. Pictures showed her in the palm of a man’s hand with the tiniest fingers!

She would have a very tough time being a First Lady. At social functions she is expected to be diplomatic and chat with people she might well dislikes. And she will meet far scarier people than this guy. What if they take a trip to Russia to meet with Putin & wife? Or to North Korea?

She is way to sheltered, too easily intimidated, and too quick to condemn somebody to function on the Washington scene.

This said, I do wish her a full recovery and good health.

Here’s a story about that baby girl. It’s the feet picture, not the fingers. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/healthmain.html?in_article_id=437236&in_page_id=1774

Something about Ms. Elizabeth’s snooty remarks, against the rabid, rabid, gun totin’ Republican neighbor, made me remember Rosie O’Dumbell’s anti-gun tirades, and the fact that she was caught packin’ heat and exposed for the hate-filled hypocrite she is.... Reckon the Edwards’ ever have any gun-totin’ bodyguards travellin’ with them?

We are facing the same thing here. Our small town is experiencing rapid growth and has developed a "pattern book" which will specify everything from what styles of window-frames you can have to what sorts of shrubbery you can plant in your yard.

While I appreciate such instruments may have some limited use in new developments to prevent them from being cookie-cutter plots, there is a great danger that it becomes a weapon that gets used against people who for whatever reason incur the wrath of their neighbors.

And this would be the RATS choice for a First Lady? Sad, truly sad. I have numerous guns and would not hesitate to pull it out to protect my family and hers if necessary. It is a perfect example of liberal values. I suppose her security guards are armed with ???? feathers?

I’m guessing more than a few Secret Service agents were packing. And I might be a bit off, but I’m guessing one or two of them might have been Republicans (or at least conservative) as well.

Dear Liz—not a real good idea to go p##sing off the “little people”, ya hear?

Hey john edwards....

Why don’t you just sue your neighbor in court for having a gun?

You are a Lawyer aren’t you?
